The term conspiracy theorist has become widely used recently to discredit people and has become associated with "cranks" and crazy ideas. Many people appear to be ashamed to be labelled as a believer in conspiracy theory but not me. Like Davd Icke says when he uses the term "conspiracy factist" my experience and research has shown me that much of the material covered by writers and speakers on the subject is the truth. It is not theory but is reality whether you like it or not!
There are so many things wrong with the modern world that we know shouldn't be the way they are and yet they have been allowed to get that way. I am sure you can think of plenty. Many years ago my inquisitive nature caused me to ask why is the world like this? What is causing so many things to go wrong? Why with all the new technology and advances does the world become more violent and why are more people living in terrible circumstances? Why is the environment being destroyed? Why are animals subjected to the most barbaric cruelty and why this becoming more common? Why is our food and drink full of toxic substances? Why is so much of the news bad?

UFOs and aliens
Besides these questions there are the mysteries of the UFO, alien races and whether they exist and the whole subject area loosely defined as "paranormal." Why have these things been so often ridiculed by science and the media?
Why is it that occult symbols from astrology and elsewhere and mythical beasts like dragons and unicorns are displayed in architecture, company logos and heraldic crests. If all this stuff isn't real why do the royal families, the aristocracy, the churches and big businesses all use these symbols?
One thing is very clear we are not presented with the whole truth by our education, the media, by authority figures, by science, by religions and by politics. The more you question, the more you find that needs questioning. As the late John Lennon once pleaded in a song of his "All I want is the truth, just give me some truth."
If I look at all the poisons in our food and even in our water supply, I am bound to ask why it is like this? Why was it not like this when I was a child? Why did tap water not have fluoride in it? Why did we not have poisonous aspartame and monosodium glutamate in so many products but do so now?
Why was the world safer? Why were little children a lot safer?Why are they not now?
Why did local communities help the members of those communities? Why do people nowadays often not even know their neighbours?
Why is it that millions of people pray to gods and deities that never answer their prayers and yet the believers still believe?
Why is it that it doesn't make any difference who wins the elections - the world conditions still get worse and whatever promises have been made are broken?
Why were there so many more birds, animals, wild flowers and insects about but not any more? Where have all the flowers gone? Where have all the bees gone?
Why was it that when I was child and a young man that cancer was a rare disease, one you had heard about but the chances are you didn't know anyone who had it or had died from it? Why is it that now it is common and very day there are news stories of public figures who are being treated or have died from the disease? Why is this when years and years and billions have been spent researching a cancer cure?
If I look at the world as it is now, it is a world full of chaos, of suffering, of disease, of death, disorder, insanity and fear.Has it been manipulated to be like this? I am sure it has.
At the same time the gulf between the fabulously wealthy and the terribly poor grows and grows. Is it all about money? Is money really the "root of all evil?" I think not!
I could go on and on and on asking questions and I am sure you too could add plenty of your own.
So faced with all these questions I turned to reading and listening to the alternative historians and conspiracy theorists who gave me answers for why the world is in the alarming mess it is. People like Jordan Maxwell, David Icke, Michael Tsarion and Alex Jones are men who have asked the same questions and have spent years of their lives seeking out the answers and presenting their findings. I am very sure that none of them have it all perfectly right but they are all well worth consulting if you want to know what is going on.
I learned about a group of people known as the Illuminati and about their plan for an Orwellian New World Order. I learned about how we the people are thought of as no more than "useless eaters" and "cannon fodder" to these people and how they are planning to eliminate most of us.
It then adds up as to why the food and water is full of poisons that don't have to be there. It adds up as to why so many people are ill and dying. It makes sense why medical treatments and drugs so often fail to cure people. The elite who run the world don't want people to get well. They don't want more of us living happy healthy lives. They want us to die off.
Why is that every year we are bombarded with the latest flu epidemic scare? Why is that people who do not get flu shots do not get flu?
As The Manic Street Preachers once sang: "We all need and are taught to need another invented diease."
Why is there more cancer? Because it has been engineered that way to get rid of people. Makes sense to me.
I learned about how these Illuminati elite are practising occultists and how we live in their occult rituals on a grand scale but are not even aware of it. I learned how war victims can be blood sacrifices at specific times. I learned how there are indeed evil forces and beings at the top of the power pyramid and whether they are called demons or reptilians doesn't really matter. That they exist and that those in control serve and are controlled by them and make sacrifices and perform ceremonies to them is a reality as far as I can determine.
I learned that the world is being made as it is by all of us and that the ones that run it have to get our consent for it to be the way it is. This they do with their skilful manipulation of the media and by causing fear, by creating a problem and then offering us the solution, by keeping us divided up by race, creed, politics etc. I learned that there are actually and factually far more of us the people than they the keepers and jailers of humanity. They only have their wealth and power because we have allowed it. They have taken advantage of the world's populations.
So there it is, a summary of some reasons I am happy to study conspiracy theory and be called a conspiracy theorist.
UPDATE 22 February 2012: Please note that since I first published this my views have changed and I have found myself moving away from a lot of this sort of material. I am no longer happy to be called a conspiracy theorist.

Countrywomen, that we "don't know for sure" means to me that we should do, so the more people asking questions and throwing the material into the public arena the better I say and as to what its called doesn't matter. The truth is the truth and a label is just a label!
The reason I am not sure is because contrary to these theories the others are widely accepted(hence burden of proof lies with them to disprove). Also some border on the realms of "National Interest" hence are classified documents not for public eyes. I am also apprehensive if too many assumptions are stated sometimes. I hope you do understand that I am not disrespecting you by not entirely agreeing with you. I still hold you in a very high esteem for your high opinion of women and their abilities to lead.
No problem at all, Countrywomen! I am in agreement with you that there are many things we cannot be certain of, which to my mind makes me wonder why that is? My reasoning is that after all these thousands of years that there are "mysteries of life" that we have no certainty on but only beliefs suggests a conspiracy in that fact alone. If information is known why is it denied and not taught to the masses and why is it so extremely hard to get unless someone doesn't want you and I to have that knowledge? And is that not a conspiracy by the knowledgeable to create two types of people - those in the know and those who don't?
I agree with you that much material is presented on an assumption basis, which does not prove it to be true. I would, however, say that if it asks questions and causes the viewer/reader to question then it is worthwhile because only by such questioning can any of us find out what is going on and what is real.
For all questions we will never have all "answers". But we assume certain things to be "answers" which confirms to our experiences, opinions and upbringing. I may digress here a little bit but does anybody really know for sure what happens to us after die? When I was a child growing up I was told "be good and do good" then you will have a better life in this one and later lives. Which is essentially about karma and reincarnation. Which although my Christian/Muslim friends didn't agree in India they also never opposed my views. But in US if the same question is asked to a fundamental christian would say "if you are not saved" then you are doomed forever giving us no second chance then they say no you had "free will" you didn't choose hence that fate. Which is difficult for me to digest.
So now who can categorically answer my question? But since I have no definite answer I will rely on a particular text and assume that to be "truth". Hence not having a definite answers isn't a bad idea always. But of course we should ask the right questions.
This for me is the problem with religion and a belief system - that if that system is based on falsehood then it has imprisoned its believers to often live in fear of consequences that may not exist or to behave a certain way because of some perceived reward or punishment. To confuse us further we see countless examples of people who clearly lead 'bad' lives doing very well and not being punished. For them we have to assume/believe they will get punished in another life but we cannot prove this to be the case. This is where it comes down to belief rather than demonstrable evidence. All religions and cults use this reward and punishment system.
So do you consider karma and reincarnation as just a belief or their could be some truth in it.
Reincarnation I accept as a truth based on the evidence I have and from my reasoning that it would hardly seem very fair otherwise that many people and animals can enjoy wonderful lives whilst others just get short ones of suffering. That just doesn't make much sense to me in such an incredible world that I live in - that the creator of all of this would be so cruelly unfair. That's a bit like the idea of chosen races - that a god would pick some of the people he made and hold them up over the others. However, that is a belief system. My argument with that is why did he make good and bad creations if some were then going to be held in higher regard than their fellows. That to me is an unfair god. Personally I would have thought that each living thing is sacred and not held in higher or lower regard by the creator. Whilst that may well be true it does not solve for us how to deal with all other life forms but is attempted by such religions as the Jains who hold that all life is sacred.
I think karma is something we each decide on according to what we feel is right or wrong action.That we decide this as we go along and at the end of a day, a year, a life. We keep a record of our own actions, our own karma.
I also feel that karma is used in the punishment and reward system of controlling believers so that it can be said they are doing well because of good karma and these other unfortunates have a bad lot because of bad karma. This extends to the wealthy elite who feel that they have the right to have the best of everything and do what they like because of their good karma and that of their ancestors and the families they are born into - although their idea of what is good and bad is very different to yours and mine.
WOW!! That was a great answer. I was about to say based on your response that for reincarnation their is some evidence is available which I don't have to say to prove it to you now.
Now coming to Karma this a little sad story but bear with me: When I was a child we had a domestic worker in our house and her daughter was the same age as me. I used to go to school and come back home but sometimes I used to find her helping her mother in washing utensils. I complained to my mom then she said that lady herself bought her daughter because she has taken one more household besides ours. I told that lady why she is bringing her daughter also instead she should go to school. She said it is her karma that she is her daughter and hence has to suffer. I feel very bad when karma is labeled and people accept their destiny. We can and should attempt to work to change our fate which isn't to our liking. But yes I can empathize with a poor woman but still karma shouldn't make us passive. I feel karma should goad us to do better things.
Yes Jains have cloth covering their mouths so that accidental insects aren't consumed. I myself have been born in a Brahmin family but when I was almost 18 first time ate fish cutlet and till date have eaten meat 4 times (fish twice, chicken & mutton once). And every time I ate I felt Ok at that time but later felt so guilty that I had to give it up completely. I never assume human life is any more or less valuable than an animal life(of course in general human consciousness is at a higher level than most of the animals).
But I really admire your knowledge about so many eastern concepts (I still was pleasantly surprised with "Vimana" mention the other day).
I agree with you that we should not accept our fate/karma and not make any effort to change things, rather our condition should provide the reason why we would want to improve our lot and that does not only refer to doing so materially.
I often have wondered why so many "Westerners" including myself have felt such an affinity with Asian religions and culture and whether this is actually to do with past lives and partial memory of them. It could well be and if that is correct it would be a proof of reincarnation.
Regarding the eating of meat I read somewhere in William Bramley's Gods of Eden, I think it was, the idea that people started to kill others and to eat flesh after Atlantis and Mu were destroyed and it became a matter of survival that they had not known or had to deal with before then. In a similar way the Innuit people and other tribal peoples who live in the inhospitable Arctic regions must eat meat and fish or they will die just as many animals that live there are carnivores too.
I am not advocating vegetarianism and even here on hub pages since most of the visitors may like non vegetarian foods have put those Indian recipes. Certainly in arctic/desert conditions it is not possible for anyone and also it depends on the brought up too. Here in US it is also a culture thing since during Thanksgiving they have a turkey hence each to their own. I just wanted to state that in my personal circumstances I used to feel extremely guilty which simply wasn't worth it.
Another westerner here I found to be very curios of eastern concepts is Mistyhorizon2003 (aka Cindy). She believes in Pagan faith but also accepts karma/ reincarnation. Maybe you all were reincarnated which none of us can prove to each other but only believe in ourselves (but their have been some videos of some testimonials which are shocking. And also things like past life regression therapy which even some doctors advocate for relief). I try not mention reincarnation to some fundamental christians since I will be struck down with possessing "demon/satanic" belief. I am glad to have this open conversation with you.
I too, have enjoyed this conversation, Countrywomen! If these people want to believe such nonsense that you are possessed by a demon that is an example of what is wrong with religious beliefs but it very hard to convince a believer that their belief is not the truth. It is a sad reality that we have to deal with as best we can if confronted with it as you have been and it is their loss that they are unable to see you as you really are.

I know a Wiccan from Houston who dresses as a Goth and she tells me that how she looks and the beliefs of some Christian fundamentalists there acts as a protection for her because they leave her alone thinking she is evil and can cast a satanic spell on them.
With regard to past lives and reincarnation all of us had all the time there ever was and that's a very long time and an incredible number of lives so I think it very likely but proving it is another matter! lol
I guess I have to read Neil Young's works. In Hesse's "Sidhartha" he stresses on a personal journey to realization which seems very sincere sometimes. Neil is a singer-songwriter and rock guitarist but you can find most of his lyrics online. He is my favourite singer-songwriter.
No problem with going off subject at all, Countrywomen - I think it is all relevant and I often do it without realising. I find that I can go from one topic to off another tangent. I have done here to a degree with Neil Young who has very little to do with the original topic although his lyrics often cover social/political and cultural comment and environmental concerns.

Hi SteveI suppose it depends on what conspiracy theory you believe in. I notice within the conspiracy community there are many different conspiracies.Personally, my pet conspiracy theory is that women once ruled the world but this fact has be heavily censored by the academic world. But when I tried talking about this in conspiracy theory web-sites or write to conspiracy theory magazines, I found they weren’t interested. I certainly don’t believe in ideas that we are ruled by alien reptiles, we don’t need alien reptiles to mess up our world, we are more than capable of doing that ourselves. I don’t agree with scapegoats like devils, demons or alien reptiles. We cannot blame others for the mess we are making ruling our world, we need to take personal responsibility for what we are doing to this world.Another point I like to make is that conspiracy theorist bang on about the occult, Freemasonry, Rosicrucians and Illuminati, and don’t think about where they get their power from. The leaders of all these organizations have great power simply because know a secret, and that is, that we live in a world of mind. To me, the real conspiracy is that for thousands of years priesthoods have known that we live in a world of mind but kept this knowledge to themselves. The fact that so many rich people and powerful politicians happened to be Freemasons is to do with what they are taught, which is mind power. Yes, I agree the truth has been kept from ordinary people. Religions teach fatalism, which is to say, everything is the will of Allah or God. While atheism teaches us we live in a completely materialist world. A belief in fatalism and materialism completely dis-empowers anyone who believes in this. And I have to say many conspiracy theorists don’t help in this. A belief in an all-powerful, “New World Order” or Illuminati or Alien reptiles are also very dis-empowering beliefs. The power has never been with rulers, priesthoods or secret societies. The power has and always will be, with the people. Rulers, priests and secret societies only gain power over the people through deception, lies and false teachings. People are only powerless because they have been taught to believe this.

William, I think you will find that all the conspiracies fall into one master conspiracy that all the others are subsections of and the people behind all the conspiracies are variously known as the Illuminati, elite, shadow government and the cabal and then the theorists place a demonic or reptilian or alien force as behind the intelligence and control exerted over the whole thing. That's why demons and reptilians are more or less interchangeable terms, which is what Guru Rasa picked up on in Icke's work.
The bad forces are not used as scapegoats but as the reason how and why the Earth got messed up. Michael Tsarion, for example, blames aliens for how evil entered the planet by saying they interfered here by mixing their DNA with us. I don't see that as scapegoating but rather as stating an opinion for how we ended up in the insane mess the world has become. Michael also teaches that there are no saviours or rescuing good aliens but that we have to sort the world problems out ourselves. This is the gist of part of contactee Alex Collier's message too.
Tsarion definitely knows about past matriarchal societies. The subject isn't discussed I would suggest because no one among the conspiracy writers has made a point of doing so and these people share material and consult the same sources. Hopefully Guru Rasa will change that. I would suggest that this is because the subject of conspiracy research and alternative history has been in the hands of men and thus reflects patriarchal values. I have been banging on about this for years - why are there there no women on about any of this or writing books. If any women enter the field, like in politics, they adopt what the men are on about. Peggy Kane, for example, adds her own angle of reverse speech, but places reptilians in control of it all again. See

The problem i have is that i don't believe in concepts like "good and evil". To me it is like what Jesus said on the Cross, "forgive them for they no not what they do".
In other words the so-called evil of our world is caused by our own ignorace and stupidity. When we were all born from the Great Mother she gaves us all the gift of freewill, and unfortunately like teenagers we wanted to go our own way and no longer listen to the guidance of the Great Mother. And this is why we are in the mess we are all now in.
The problem is not demons, alien reptiles or the Illuminati, the problem is within us all. Yes, we have been decieved by priests who have con us into worshipping false gods, but the fact is, we seem to prefer to lisen to the voice of liars and decievers than the voice of the Great Mother.
While we blame the problems of the world on our leaders or aliens or anyone else, we then establish a belief in our powerlessness. And if we believe we are powerless, then that becomes a fact. This is why scapegoating is not helpful, we are not helpless in the face of so-called evil alien reptiles, demons, secret societies or priests.
The Great Mother never turned Her back on us, it is we who have turn our backs on Her. She is all-powerful and loves us all unconditionally. If we begin to return to Her and accept Her help and guildance, then we all can reclaim our power.

Well yes, I can see what you are saying but what about the aliens, demons (fallen angels) and Illuminati? And in Islamic belief there are, of course, the djinn. Are they not also born of the Great Mother and loved unconditionally by her in the same way that predators and parasites are spiritual beings even if they present a threat to other life forms including our own? I do not know what the answer to this is. The nearest I can get is that these predatory, hostile and parasitic beings are a part of the creation too and whether we like them or not is irrelevant at one level. In the most perfect untouched and unspoilt by humans natural environments we will still find predators and parasites, which have a function of keeping down the numbers of their prey and taking out the weaker ones, or so it is said.
Tsarion says that the aliens who interfered here were pursued to this section of the galaxy from elsewhere. Alex Collier says the Draco came here from elsewhere. I have heard it asked, well if that was the case wasn't it irresponsible of whoever pursued them to have chased them here? Collier, as far as I know admits that the other races do not know what to do about these beings. They have as much right to live somewhere as all the other beings.
That they exist as races on other worlds and dimensions I would not find it hard to believe. The question is if such beings exist what then do we do about that?
The Bible and some priests suggest that evil spirits should be cast out or exorcised. The question is where do they then go.
The Bible tells us in Luke 8:·33
"Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked."
Elsewhere Jesus, of course, is reported to have said "Get thee behind me, Satan."
The same question applies to what do we do with ghosts and poltergeists? I have spent the night once in a house said to be haunted by either the spirit of Elvis or a soldier who died in the last war. Whoever, whatever that being was it had been communicating with a family who lived there before who held seances. It appeared to a man who lived there after and terrified him. When I was there it caused cold spots. The spiritualist church and Llandaff Cathedral had failed to get rid of it. The family who had moved out before who held seances and said it was Elvis said that the spirit was going to their new place. It never bothered anyone again in the house that was troubled by it so maybe it did go away. It was harmless as far as I was concerned but the man who saw it was frightened by what he saw.
The Illuminati do know what they do and believe they are entitled to do it being "enlightened beings", which is of course what the name means. If a warmonger declares war and is responsible for the suffering and death of thousands, he is aware of this. But these actions are seen by most people as "evil."By not believing in men who make war does not get rid of them - they are still there and they can still choose to kill and destroy.
I do not accept that belief in a hostile being disempowers us. For example I know that a wasp can sting me and a cobra can kill me so my logic and awareness of those facts would say do not aggrevate these creatures if you meet them but rather treat them with respect as fellow beings but knowing they can hurt me. There is a part in the Alex Collier interview where he is asked what should be done if you meet a reptilian of the Draco race and his answer is to get away from it as fast as possible.
Go to video.google.com and watch films made by Alex Jones for those that are loosely educated on "conspiracy theories". He has put together some very good documentaries. However most people would rather watch monday night football, american idol, mtv or some other mind numbing program...ahh whatever...i dont even care anymore...most amercans dont even care about the cigaretss they smoke, the sodas they drink, the toxins in the food they eat...the "powers that be" have nearly FULL control!!!

A few years ago, I had the good fortune to attend a David Icke lecture. Whilst I did not agree with everything that he said, he certainly was not mad, as portrayed in our beloved media. I had a chat with him afterwards, and he seemed to be a very nice bloke, with a few innovative ideas.
I am a long way from being a full blown conspiracy theory, but certainly believe that humanity is being spun a web of lies. As a young man, I tried fighting the system head-on, but soon realised that it is an unfeeling machine that will run you down. As you fight the system, you are only fighting yourself. Divide and conquer.
Now we are trying passive resistance, by stepping outside the system and launching a few attacks from the sidelines. Trying to fight the incessant dumbing down!

I personally believe we don't need an enemy from another planet. As the old saying goes, "you are thine own worse enemy". The enemy has never been out there, the enemy has always been within.
As the mystic keep on banging on, the answers don't come from outside of ourselves, the answers always come from within.
This is what i have learnt throughout my life, when anything has gone wrong in my life, and i blame others for this, then i am disempowered. It is only when i accept responsiblity for what has happened and look within myself for the cause of the problem. Is when i can find the solution for the problem.
Because we live in a world of mind, then everything that happens to us is created by the way we think and feel. If we become ill, or are attacked by parisites or muggers, wild animals or even aliens from another planet. This is created by negitive thinking within our own minds.
Likewise is we choose to think about love and compassion and take a totally Pollyannaish outlook on life, this also will be created in our reality.
I know people are attracted by conflict and high drama, and if you enjoy this then that is not a problem, but what you have to think about, is, do you really want this in your reality?
Do you really want to live in a world ruled by alien reptiles? Because if enough people get together and are turned on by this, then they will collectively create this in their own reality. It is not a reality i personally want to have and this is why i have rejected David Icke and his ideas.

William, I have come across your way of thinking many times in various forms and it seems very like the Law of Attraction/The Secret. My problem with it is that all the other stuff we don't want is still there and stuff we don't even know about and don't want so where is all that coming from? I have had disagreements with LOA followers who are unable to explain to my satisfaction why terrible things happen to people who could have had no means of even knowing such horrors existed let alone to have visualised them.
Also I am back to the predatory and parasitic lifeforms - the human viewpoint is often that what these animals do is horrible, but it is an intricate part of the balance of nature and has its role in it all. This is something I learned as little child and I cannot see how a world can exist without species in it which bring down the numbers of others. I remember watching a little bird catching a beautiful dragonfly that had just emerged after many months of my care for the larva and it was gone in seconds as food for a small brown bird. Every species obeys the "go forth and be fruitful and multiply" program and without predators and parasites the numbers grow and grow and become a danger to other species anyway. I am currently watching this in progress here where a species of scale insect is infesting the endemic Dragon Trees and causing many to die. It would appear that the Dragon Tree has no defense against them and that the insects have no predator to keep their numbers down thus a plant species is under threat from their numbers. The same thing is happening in Australia where the introduced Cane Toad is multiplying and eating native wildlife and posing a serious threat to other animals. This is why the predators and parasites exist and I cannot see how they are being made or unmade by what we think about. They are creations of the Creator too.
I do agree with you that watching and thinking about violent subjects and frightening stuff and horror is not likely to inspire positivity but more likely to inspire more of the same and I do wonder why people want a diet of horror, war, violence and fear from their films, videos, books and other sources. That they do want this stuff is clear or the suppliers wouldn't find any market for it!
Greetings - I don't think you need to be a conspiracy theorist to realise that there is a lot of misinformation and/or secrecy at play in the world. But similarly, I don't believe in the 'no smoke without fire' approach which more or less says there must be truth in every rumour simply because the rumour exists. For example, there are many rumours about the existence of a creator, but these rumours do not prove the existence of any such being. Maybe there is none.

You did ask where all the stuff about, "law of attraction/the secret" comes from. There seems to be three different sources. Some of this stuff is still within traditional religions like, the teaching of Jesus, Hindusim, Taoism and Buddhaism as well as mystic groups like Sufism. I also believe that ancient teachings have been preserved in secret societies like the Freemasons. And the third source is channelling. Ideas like, "we create our own reality" comes from the Seth books that was channelled by the medium Jane Roberts. And today we have the Abraham teaching channelled by Esther Hicks, which is a follow on from Jane Roberts.
Yet this stuff is not new. The teachings channelled by Jane Roberts and Esther Hicks are not much different from Christian Science, which was started in the 19th century.
You did ask why, "why terrible things happen to people who could have had no means of even knowing such horrors existed let alone to have visualised them."
I think the answer to this is that we greatly underestimate the power of our own minds. When people hear about mind-power they assume you have to put a lot of effort into changing your reality through mind-power. The opposite is true. Most of us create our reality through our day-dreams with no effort whatsoever. And because we are not taught the power of our own thoughts and fantasies, very few of us ever attempt to try and clean-up our day-dreams or ask ourselves if we want to expeience our fantasies in reality. So many of us may dream about conflict and violence or watch it on TV and think that what they are doing is totally harmless.
Another point is that most of us unwittingly create the things, we very much don't want to happen, through worry and fear. A person who say fears getting cancer because some of their relations had died of it, will unwittingly visualise getting cancer through their fear and worry. And so create it in their reality without realising what they are doing.
I also believe we are connected with each other, through what Jung called, "the collective unconscious". On the unconscious level we are in communication with other people, so if we persist in negitive thoughts we mentally communicate with others on the same wave-length. I notice this in groups, i have always had problems with joining groups because i am aware of the, "group mind". Whenever i have joined any group i found at first my individuality was tollerated but after awhile i would notice the attempts of the "group mind" to take me over. I would resist this and find myself being rejected by the group.
I first noticed this as a teenager when boys like me were being pressurised into joining gangs. How some of these boys would act and behave inside a gang was competely different to how they would behave outside of the gang. Later on i saw the same thing in New-Age and Occult groups where the group mind was even stronger. Individuals can quickly adopt the beliefs of any group mind they happen to be within and if many of these beliefs are negative then they can adopt them as well.
I have always been a outsider all my life, which has made my life very difficult, but the advantage of being an outsider is that I aware of the power of group minds.
The biggest problem i see in the world is that we are all brought up to believe we live in a material world, and so most people are totally unaware of the power of our own minds. It like being given a powerful sports-car and not being shown how to drive it, it that situation, it is not surprising that you will, more that likely, crash it.
I share your concern about the brutality we see in nature. I am a vegaterian simply because i don't want to animals to be killed to feed me. Yet, the problems we have with death and dying is also to do with the beleif we live in a completely material world. Ancient culture had what is called, "ancentor worship". What this ment in practise was that when anyone died the relations would go visit their local meduim and have converation with the person who 'died'. So they had a completely different attitude towards death. So death is not such a big issue in these tribes as it is with modern people.
Another point is that we don't have a 'god' that crreated everything. The creators of our world, is us, both individually and collectively. The animals of our world are also creators, they too create their own reality both individually and collectively. We also don't live in one reality. Jane Roberts when channelling talked about many different realities we visit. Science is also having to accept this to make sense of our world, and so accept other realities in the String and M theories.
So we are all part of a great collective mind that is experiementing with different realities. If we make a mess of our lives in this reality, we do have the option of doing a better job in another reality. So the problems of the world is not caused by an insane creator god, it is caused by us all. We collectively are 'god' and it is we, as part of the collective mind, that is creating our world.

You call it a conspiracy, Bard of Ely, I call it greed. Virtually all of the problems you cite have at their root the greed of those who believe themselves to be better than the masses. As they say in Watergate, "follow the money."

I don't think money is behind it all though because the elite banking families of the world already control it all anyway and manipulate the economic sitauation worldwide as they are currently doing. The agenda being to create a global electronic currency but before that to do away with national currencies and combine them into new ones like the Euro and the Amero, which is on its way for Canada, North America and Mexico.
That these families believe themselves "better than the masses," I do agree with you on!
Makes me feel guilty for consuming aspartame which I do like candy. We live in such a socially conditioned world that it's difficult to separate the truths within us from reality, even for me. However, I will say this, the truth can't and won't be hidden for long, whatever that truth is. The government is so deceptive it's hard to know.

Yikes! I just took a look at that website, Bard, and now I'm hoping that I don't get brain cancer. Frankly,I should be dead as a doornail taking that into consideration. There goes diet coke and pepsi. I wonder about splenda. What a bummer.
I hope the government stops going around debunking ufo experiences. I mean, I've never been abducted by a ufo, but it seems to me that thousands of people around the world can't have the same dream. Plus, youtube practically varifies ufo existent. I don't know. I'll be waiting to see how this pans out.
I have to live with annoying floaters in my vision, which I am pretty sure got there by ignoring warnings about aspartame years ago - I used to chew a lot of gum with the stuff in it. Nowadays it is nearly impossible to find any that hasn't got aspartame so I gave up chewing gum. It is really alarming to see how many products have the poison in them and are being bought daily by millions of people. Millions more are just saying no and spreading the word.

Basically most of the artificial sweeteners are suspect and the cyclamates are banned in America but not here. Natural sweetener Stevia is fine if you can get it. Then there's honey and ordinary sugar is a lot safer than its substitutes.

It does not matter if they are lizards, humans or aliens; what matters is that they are evil. If we are all part of a "great collective" then they are the gangrenous limb that needs to be hacked off.
I agree with you that the name is unimportant and they are evil, however, I have often come across the idea that because this is a universe of duality of yin and yang it is necessary to the whole plan to have these forces as an opposite! I can also see the predator, parasite and destroyer in nature where animals and plants do these things. On this question I am undecided.

Ahhh I hear you! I've been reading conspiracy theories for years as they are so fascinating. I've always been interested in the universe, paranormal ideas and aliens etc but I don't consider myself as a 'conpiracy theorist' as it seems to be a negative label attached to people who are open-minded.
I think there is a lot of stigma attached to conspiracy theories where a lot of people automatically write them off with no consideration of their origin. Sure, some theories are completely batshit crazy but there are some with a lot of truth attached to them. Obviously there are some people who are biased or dillusional but it's a shame the more rational minds get lumped in with the whole label and a lot of great ideas can be lost to this. It is this skeptical attitude that has stopped us advancing in many areas of society, especially science. And as you say, many people fear being unfairly labelled as 'cranks' for voicing their opinions.
I agree that it's an easy option to discredit people who like to ask questions and challenge things. It's a shame that these theories are called 'conspiracies' instead of all ideas considered as viable possibilities. We don't have to agree with everything but society should be adult enough to say "I disagree but I consider your point" without getting so offended or defensive.

Since I wrote this 2 years ago I have changed my mind and no longer would be happy to be called a conspiracy theorist because I don't agree with several widely held beliefs and I have noticed that many of these people are as much "sheeple" as those they tell to wake up! Not only that but some are very hateful people as I witnessed after I became a public supporter of David de Rothschild who is hated because of his family name and the biased opinions of David Icke and Alex Jones fans! And I no longer believe in chemtrails as well. I recently witnessed how lots of truth-seekers/conspiracy theorists turned on Charlie Veitch in a very unpleasant way just because he changed his mind about 9:11 and said so on TV. basically a lot of truth-seeker/conspiracy theorists don't like anyone disagreeing with their alternative beliefs which they push as much as religious fundamentalists!

lol Just because there is coal amongst diamonds you don't class them all diamonds as coal. Not much has changed since you wrote this, the many are controlled by the few and the few are controlled by money. Saying that, 90% f people are happy living the way it is too, so long as someone else is worse off. However/whatever name or means or goals or intent its all broken. :)
A lot of information being circulated by leading people in the conspiracy theory and ufology circles is nonsense but sadly the people who propagate this stuff are very influential and they get believed. They also seem to be motivated by making money and manipulating people. I have better things to get on with in my life than following this madness or wading through it finding the bits of truth, many of which I already know.

People only talked about cancer in hushed whispers before but now there is endless propaganda around the subject of cancer especially breast cancer. There is over awareness detracting from other medical issues no less important. Celebrities who have survived cancer are constantly trotted out to promote mass screening, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Cancer is on the increase and not just because people are living long enough to get it but the rates are superseded with the mass media and Government obsession with it. Notice that the Government didn't want to tackle obesity for example until the problem became too big to deal with. That's because they don't want to deal with it and I could say they actually want to encourage because it suits the large corporations producing and marketing junk food.
I have a close friend who developed cancer phobia after discovering a lump and being referred to an oncologist for tests. Fortunately test results were negative but the phobia was so intense and serious he could not work and this was somebody who would work at home through flu. The cancer phobia still remains but is less severe. The roots of the phobia lay in constantly seeing storylines of people being diagnosed with cancer and surviving or dying of it in soap opera and films.

I wouldn't call things we don't know for sure as conspiracy. It is always good to know alternate perspectives. In recent times I have seen videos on first US moon landing and 911 theories which seem to have some element of truth in it (even though it has lots of assumptions). Good hub.
