David Mayer de Rothschild is a fabulously wealthy member of the Rothschild banking family, so in other words he is part of the elite who run the world but does this mean that he should be condemned because of his background? Does this mean that he personally agrees with what others in his family believe or have done? I personally don't think so.
Alex Jones, a name well-known to conspiracy theorists and truthseekers, is a man I usually have a lot of time for, however, I thought he acted really badly when he had David de Rothschild as a guest on his show back in 2007.

Although Jones made some very good points he became rude and
insulting to his guest and in my opinion failed miserably in making his
audience think badly of De Rothschild. If anything he achieved the
opposite.
As I see it, just because David comes from the Rothschild family does not mean that he is guilty of any evil crimes against humanity that Jones would like to pin on him. Because someone is related by blood to someone else or is part of a family does not mean anything more than that. Often children can disagree very strongly with their parents or other relatives and should not be tarred with the same brush because of the bad ways of people they are related to.

I don't think De Rothschild's views are always correct either and I am
not at all convinced that Global Warming has been caused by people nor
that "green taxes" that have been put forward as a solution are the
answer. I think that De Rothchild's opinions on the throwaway society
are right though - we do need to cut back on our wasteful ways of
living and we need to find solutions to the very real problems we face.
David de Rothschild is known as an adventurer, an explorer and an environmentalist. He is the founder of Adventure Ecology and also the author of The Live Earth Global Warming Survival Handbook: 77 Essential Skills to Stop Climate Change—Or Live Through It.
He
has an advanced Diploma in Natural Medicine from the College of
Naturopathic Medicine, and he is the owner of an organic farm in New
Zealand. This is of interest to me because it shows that De Rothschild
favours alternative healthcare and healthy food as opposed to what is
generally available.
David de Rothschild was highly acclaimed by National Geographic magazine and he has travelled to the North Pole, crossing the Arctic from Russia to Canada. He has also journeyed to Ecuador and seen the rainforests and their ongoing destruction for himself.
David de Rothschild is embarking on another new adventure, in many ways following in the footsteps of the late Thor Heyerdahl, who crossed the ocean on his raft the Kon-Tiki and proved that such journeys across the sea were possible. De Rothschild is sailing a raft known as the Plastiki across the Pacific Ocean and it is made up of 12,000 plastic bottles.
He will be passing by the Great Pacific Garbage Patch on his journey, a vast area spanning hundreds of miles made up of floating garbage and held there by a vortex of currents. Besides showing the degree to which plastic waste is not being recycled but is a major source of pollution he will be raising awareness of the extreme dangers to marine life that such rubbish can create. Turtles and seabirds such as albatrosses mistake plastic floating items for jellyfish and swallow the indigestible trash, which often results in their deaths.
De Rothschild has the wealth to do whatever he likes and yet he has chosen to pursue an often very difficult and hazardous way of life on his expeditions and adventures. I have included some videos and links to information and I will let you make up your own minds about him.

There is a problem in seeing someone like David Mayer de Rothschild as just a ordinary decent guy, and that if the people who rule our world are just ordinary men, then why is the world in the mess that it is?
We have the choice of seeing the rulers of the world as just ordinary people who haven't a clue what they are doing. Or see our rulers as people who know exactly what they are doing, but are basically evil. Neither prospect gives us much hope for the future.
My personal take on this is that the problem with our world, is that it is ruled by men, and 5,000 years of history has shown men to be incompetent rulers of our world. It would be better if we were ruled by women.
William, whilst I would agree with you that the problem is that it is men that run the world, the point I was making here is that it is wrong to judge David de Rothschild because of who his family are which is what Jones was doing. De Rothschild is not portrayed by the media as "an ordinary decent guy" at all but as a handsome and heroic adventurer with plans for saving the world. Conspiracy theorists like Jones have branded him as part of the evil elite and I don't think this is right. De Rothschild's current adventure project will raise a lot of awareness about the dangers of dumping plastic in the oceans and is a call for recycling. I think people need to know about these matters so I think this project deserves to be applauded. That he is known to be a follower of natural medicine and organic farming are also very good things.

Yes, David de Rothschild did stick to what he wanted to talk about and kept his cool despite Alex Jones going off at him with a barrage of irate and hostile remarks. The best Jones could come up with was that Rothschild made a mistake about the planets and their distance from the Sun. For me as someone who has supported Jones, and still do, it was a real mess of an interview and showed Jones at his worst!

This interview has put me right of Jones even more than I already was.
The Cap and Trade money (ie. carbon taxes) will be paid by the billions to the Rothschild bank in London. Do you really think the Rothschilds give a shit about the environment? And the Australian Labour Government has proved this. They have tried to pass a bill giving concessions to carbon polluting corporations while increasing taxes on their citizens. In 2007 the Labour government was elected on the basis that it would reduce emissions and fight global warming however just this year alone they have increased its carbon footprint by 1%, that's not what I call fighting global warming.
And by the way they've just signed off on a $60 Billion gas exploration venture to supply China and India with gas so they can pollute the world further then they have already.
So I guess this is what Governments call Global Warming solutions!!!
John and Ozzy, I hear what you are saying and I am well aware of the fact that this planet could be using free energy and that this has not been allowed. It has not been allowed or promoted because it would totally change the way the world is run and would overturn the power structure as it is and the ways that wealth is generated. It is my hope for the future that eventually it will be used!
In the meantime, however, recycling the materials we are currently using is completely logical and worthwhile so De Rothschild raising awareness on that as an issue is of great value.

Wouldn't it be better if he were to use his wealth and his publicity for raising these important issues, but I guess his relatives and corrupt associates wouldn't allow for that. But if he had the courage he would no matter what the outcome.
Remember its people like JFK who came before us and had the courage to raise these issues and ultimately pay for it with his life. These are the people we must praise.
Look I'm not praising Alex Jones but I don't see anybody else raising these issues and putting it out there so people can become aware. For a start I believe in giving credit where credit is due and as I have pointed out I agree with the bulk of the info and advice De Rothschild has in his book. All the people that criticise him have not read the book or have such biased opinions against him that even though he is doing good they still brand him as evil! He is recommending organic farming and diets, recycling what you can, reading all labels, avoiding harmful chemicals, appreciating and connecting with nature, planting trees, growing your own fruit and veg, walking and riding a bike, taking less flights, being vegetarian, and even promoting hemp clothing and including Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace in the organisations listed in an appendix, but significantly, not the WWF.
He is encouraging people to go out and have an adventure and see the state of the planet for themselves, and to do something about it. He is trying to motivate young people, he is trying to motivate everyone to do something!
What I don't agree with is the global warming caused by us idea and support for Al Gore etc but I would suggest that it is possible De Rothschild does not have the full picture and has been "educated" with wrong info. But that's not surprising - many people have the same incorrect viewpoint because that has been taught in the mainstream.
I would like to think that he could be the guy to turn the whole thing around and I would think it more logical to be trying to get him to see the big picture rather than railing against him that accomplishes nothing.
The fact that he asked AJ to send him the evidence Alex had shows he is willing to look at material he does not know about.
If the Plastiki project is successful at raising awareness of plastic pollution in the oceans and how plastic can be and should be recycled then I would say that was very worthwhile.

Jones is either conducting generally pretty random ad hominem attacks against some "evil elite individual of the Nooooo Woarld Orderrr", or sucking the sack of the flavour-of-the-month (generally unwitting) co-intel stooge, who he will no doubt slander to hell and back the very next week. Alex Jones might of got mad, but why couldn't David talk about anything? All he did was give generic details. He even said jupiter mars and saturn are closer to the sun than the earth.
David did not get much of a chance now did he? So what if he made an error about those planets. But under the torrent of verbal abuse from Jones it was hardly surprising he wouldn't be at his best and why would that be something he should know in any case? As I have explained before it is the sort of thing I would really have to think about to put the planets in order and might make an error myself. David is not an astronomer. I don't know for sure but I suspect that if you asked a cross section of the general public to list the planets of this solar system in the right order you would find that many could not do it. He was supposedly there to talk about his book but was not given much chance to do so.
Because of his laugh, I am unconvinced that David's reference to the planets distance from the sun was a mistake. I also feel that it is possible Alex purposefully insulted Rothschild as an attempt to draw a reaction. It was a very interesting interview to say the least, thanks Bard.

Well, Mike, you have your opinions and I have mine. As it happens I am now in contact with David and helping run a fansite for him. As I have often stated I fail to see why he cannot be treated as the individual he is and not blamed for the sins of others in his family. David is doing what he can to help clean up the mess the world is in with his Plastiki mission. He has spoken out against consumerism and "shopping as a hobby."

For me, Charles, it is a question we can all ask ourselves - what do I actually need? The problem as I see it is that all of us have lots of things we don't need and this is driven by the consumerist materialist society and advertising. I have too many clothes and they are not all ones I bought but many have been gifts. Most people have too many clothes. Animals have the one coat of fur or feathers or scales they are wearing. I have given a lot of thought to this and concluded that we have become a consumerist culture and it's not just via advertising and the media because under tribal conditions too, people have an urge to decorate their bodies with clothes and ornamentation and to have possessions and a home. People in the consumerist society have increased this and taken advantage of it to manipulate others and accumulate riches. I once asked my good friend King Arthur Pendragon what a person needs in terms of material possessions and he answered it would be those items from all that you have that you could wear or carry with you and nothing more. He is the only person I know who has voluntarily given up nearly all his material possessions at one point in his life. He left his house and everything in it, his job and all he took was his motorbike and what he was wearing.
I believe David de Rothschild makes a valid point in talking about how "shopping as a hobby" is wrong and that we should buy only what we need. As to what our needs are, as I say, I think that is for each of us to judge having given thought to the matter.

We certainly do have a very long way to go but that is part of why I decided David was worth supporting because he has said as much - that the time for debating is over and that the time for action is now and has shown by his current own example that he was going to do his bit with the Plastiki. If he can motivate and inspire people and if he can make a lot more people aware of the pollution issue then he is doing very good work to my mind. Similarly with his book, if people follow suggestions in there then the world will be better for it.
I just think Rothschild is completely out of touch with the challenges faced by us plebs. And yes, Alex was incredibly rude.

Why is it that whenever a member of the establishment elite takes up the green banner they are suddenly hailed as an iconoclastic, visionary hero by the press? Why would National Geographic give Rothschild such glowing publicity? Consider that National Geographic is owned by Rupert Murdoch's Fox Broadcasting empire. That is often how the media and the way of the world works - who wants to read about someone they have never heard of or who has no claim to fame? If you were running a media publication who would you want to feature - someone who was a celebrity or someone nobody has heard of? Which is going to get you the most readers and the most sales? David is doing something it is in his power to do - use his name and fame to get media attention and coverage for his Plastiki Expedition and in so doing raise awareness about plastic pollution and the need for responsible use of resources. How can he be expected to use his family's wealth and power? He is a family member not the family!

VCastro, you have spelled my name wrong as has the last person to post here but whatever...I am actually really sick of hearing all this anti-Rothschild stuff that I have have to delete at Facebook where I have had long arguments with bitter and biased conspiracy theorists and David Icke fans! Global Warming or Climate Change is real enough for me and I see enough evidence for it. I note that the Kogi mamos in Columbia, an ancient tribal people who know all the signs of what to watch for in the ecosystem are dismayed that the top of their sacred mountain no longer gets the clouds and snow it should have. I saw Mt Teide here have the same problem the year before last when we had the worst drought in 48 years as well. I see now that Greenland is continuing to melt. I would say all these things are evidence enough for me. Why are they happening if the planet is not warming?
But no, I don't think humans have much impact on Global Warming but they have a very big one on global pollution, which is what David is focused on showing up and has done so. Green taxes help stop polluters polluting, that is the big companies that make this mess. I have also seen for myself the public left to show "green responsibility" and they do nothing until forced to by law. Where I used to live the residents were given the choice of putting recyclables in green bags for collection. I was the only person in a street that did so. I moved away and came back some years later and was pleased to see all the green bags out. I commented to a friend and she said, they haven't done this by choice but because it is a rule now here! That said a lot to me! People will not act to do something responsible like recycling unless forced to.
If something is not done to stop global and environmental pollution we are going to see a lot more species go extinct!
As for Alex Jones, when David asked him if he had been to see the real state of the Arctic for himself, of course he had no answer because he hasn't and David has! He has been to both polar regions, been to the South American rainforest areas and now has just crossed the Pacific Ocean so I think he would be a very qualified person to speak from experience on these places. He recently pointed out that in all the thousands of miles they covered with the Plastiki they hardly saw any marine life and caught only three fish. That should show us what a very real mess the oceans are and I applaud David's efforts for doing what he has done!

If you can find evidence of global warming you researched yourself I would like to see it. I have seen no evidence so see no reason why we should be taxed for it. You are blinded to De Rothschild and it is no surprise. Wealth, good looks and charm are all very seductive. Jones did himself no favours in his interview but he was right nonetheless.

3. Anything that brings fear you should be skeptical of. Anything which claims something "is" be skeptical. Anything that brings happiness, laughter and joy embrace.
4. This world has been around for billions and billions of years. Humans have been around for perhaps 200,000 and industrial humans have been around for perhaps 200 years.
What is going to happen to the Earth is going to happen to it no matter what. It is a ridiculously naive assumption to think we can have any control over nature. Nature and evolution is blind and always finds a balance and equilibrium.
Rothshchild's is a scam based on the idea of carbon credits which will be used by the rich industrial nations to tax the poor developing third world nations and hold them back from competing with the developed world. For a start I don't think David has anywhere near the sort of money you believe he has so I disagree with you on that, and even if he did that is not an answer.If you did some research on me and my background and what I have looked into (much of which is published here), and my opinion on the very biased way conspiracy theorists view individuals like David based on nothing more than the family name and what, for example, a David Icke book says, you might understand a bit more of where I am coming from. You are clearly an example of someone within a "belief system" yourself! In your case it is that of the standard conspiracy theorist, most of whom hold views like yours! I suggest you read my hub about Familyism. Over the past few years I have woken up to the way that conspiracy 'gurus' like Icke and Jones weave a spell over their followers with material that has a vast number of holes in it, often cannot be scientifically proven, and is often little more than propaganda in itself. The people who listen to Icke and Jones then seem to feel some sort of superiority in their knowledge to 'lesser mortals' whom they call "sheeple" and tell to "wake up!" The problem is these people are as much sheeple themselves! I don't believe in chemtrails and I don't believe in reptilian shape-shifters in the bodies of the elite family members and world leaders either. These things are belief systems as well.
I remember hearing this interview and I did think Alex Jones came across rude and obnoxious, but I suspected at the time that this was likely something they had planned to be entertaining for listeners. It is a radio show, after all. But, either way, I don't believe in condemning someone for the actions of their ancestors. I also do not think there is inherently anything wrong with being wealthy and powerful. It's what you do with that wealth and power that matters.

The arrogance and hypocrisy of conspiracy theorists continues to astonish me; they behave just like (and sometimes even more like) "sheep" and "brainwashed cult members" than those who they accuse of being "sheep" and "brainwashed cult members." It is a prevalent trait amongst conspiracy forum members; you only need to visit David Icke's forums to notice it.
For example, more often than not, they'll praise themselves to the high heavens because they see themselves as "enlightened" (as if only they are privy to some profound truth, rather like a member of a gnostic sect) and laud it over the "idiot sheep" who follow "everything they see and hear on the media." Where on earth do they think they receive their information if not from the media, or a media of sorts? Yes, they receive information from "alternative" as opposed to "mainstream" media sources, but why can't the former be as susceptible to same doubts as the latter? Why trust figures such as Alex Jones and David Icke implicitly?
I also find that there is a proclivity towards inverse snobbery (which indicates fear) amongst conspiracy theorists, which dictates that all people with aristocratic and royal blood, and anyone who happens to be a scion of a wealthy family, is regarded as "SCUM" simply by virtue of their birth. To be honest, I'd rather associate myself with the "SCUM" than with the common cry of curs who seem to populate forums similar to David Icke's. At least those of the "upper-class" are more likely to express themselves clearly, unlike the barrage of incoherence and vulgar language you see from a lot of members of conspiracy theory forums. I've noticed it too in your comments section, Bard of Ely. It seems that whenever a conspiracy theorist criticize David for simply being a Rothschild, they seem to do it in a vulgar and incoherent manner with very little grasp of grammar and punctuation. Maybe I'm being a little too harsh, but it seems to be indicative of a particular mindset

This Alex Jones sounds like most of the AM radio talk show hosts that love to interupt, insult, and deride their guests. It seems like a popular form and can become quite agravating. My personal favorite (if I need to get my blood pressure up) is Mark Levin who is appalling.
