Strange reptilian dream of an iguana
66My dreams
I tend to have really weird full-colour dreams and usually forget them, and I usually don't bother trying to record them or analyse them, however, the following dream was so vivid and I felt so good about it that I wrote it all down.
Most of my dreams are not set in places I know in this world and do not feature people that I recognise from my waking life, and so it was in this dream.

Iguana dream
I had been walking down the banks of a river and wetlands are that came to an end in a lake with reeds. On the sides there were patches of brown dead Duckweed and I was feeling sad that it had probably died from pollution.
I waded out into the water but was very happy to see many large toad tadpoles that were obviously surviving well even if there was pollution present.
I spoke telepathically to someone I couldn't see saying how glad I was to see the tadpoles in the clear water. I think I was talking to the deity or guardian spirit of the place.
I turned and saw what at first I thought was a large Flounder, a flatfish that can live in freshwater, and that I had often seen as babies in the River Taff in Cardiff where I lived in my waking life. It was flat against the rocks that were the same colour but it moved and I could see it was was actually an Iguana and not a Flounder.
The Iguana was a greyish-green and camouflaged against the rocky background. It looked at me and then moved upwards out of the water where it vanished from sight.
I next saw a huge statue that was like some form of oriental Buddha or deity from Tibetan Buddhism. I got the feeling it had been there for a very long time and was the deity that presided over the place.
I then woke up with the memories still vivid and feeling very happy.

I love dreams that make me feel content upon waking. Well told!
What a lovely dream Bard of Ely. What do iguana's mean to you? Maybe your dream is telling you that despite some things seeming to have gone wrong in your life, everything is actually allright and that you are being protected by spirit?
Great dream Steve. I always think that dreams are visual interpretations of moods anyway, and that the feelings are more significant than the images. This sounds like a particularly good one.
I think that dreams about reptiles are telling you that something is or is about to transform (powerfully)- and for the better- in your life. Reptiles are generally feared because associated with Old Nick the serpent, yet are also associated with meditation and immortality. Serpent, dragon or naga means 'wise,' as the serpent was able to offer knowledge to Eve.I do have to tell you that this transformation usually appears as something cracking or breaking, somewhere in your life. This is not to be worried about- before the new skin (new life phase)can appear, the old one has to split open, crack, break and fall away. It looks bad on the surface but HAS to happen. There may be a small struggle to slough off the old- but it's worth the effort and will relieve that inner itch for change. Hope I don't sound TOO mad...
I am one of the most vivid dreamers. My nights are full of so much drama in my mind that I am often convinced it happen, even insisting upon it with friends and family. I'll say don't you remember? But alas it was just a dream or worse a nightmare! I could write a novel with all the material I have dreamt up....and if your dream hub is an y indication so could you....Thanks for sharing, Ely!
Very interesting dream. Sometimes many things are intertwined in our dreams for not apparent reason but I never had a dream quite like the one you described. It could have had something to do with the migraines as they can be wicked. Good hub.
An interesting dream, indeed, Bard... I hope you'll remember your dreams more often - and write about them here. Of dreams you do remember, are many of them about lizards and flora/fauna? What I remember of my dreams are parts mostly involving people but I'm sure I dream of nature stuff, too - but fail to have enough awareness upon awakening to remember certain scenes very clearly.
Well done Bard! I thought to be the only one to have such strange dreams, but I'm not alone...often I heard "mental" voices and I speak with someone that I can't see, in my dreams, it's quite strange. I think that everything we see in a dream must be taken as symbols: as for example, the iguana, the statue, but also the place in which the dream is lived, the atmosphere and the feelings arising from what is seen. As in a puzzle, one must recollect all the significant and best recalled particulars to get the final meaning of the whole dream, its clear sign...
What an interesting dream! It's amazing that you remembered so many details about it. I rarely remember my dreams unless they are truly remarkable.
Enjoyed reading about your dream and how vivid it was - great to back and reflect what it all means.

My husband claims he never remembers his dreams. I think he is just dreaming about lots of hot women. I hope all your dreams leave you with a feeling of happiness.
10 months after you wrote this I read it and will try to keep this short and sweet. Dreams are very important. This dream was connecting you with your more instinctual nature (Iguana). Let your instincts guide you to what you need - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
