Slips and Curves slip model Shelby interviewed

Please introduce yourself to my readers.

I am Shelby. I am 19 years old and am reasonably new to modelling. I was always self-conscious and tried to find clothing, especially swim suits that would cover me completely. I finally, decided that I would pursue my dream of being a model and became a member of Model Mayhem.

Model Mayhem is a professional organization that allows photographers and models to learn about each other. All of my modelling assignments have been made through that association. I love modelling. It gives me the confidence that I didn't have before and I get to meet very interesting photographers and models.

How did you become a slip model and have you done other sorts of modelling as well?

I started modelling lingerie less than a year ago. I did a matching bra and underwear shoot as a “TFP”. I was nervous, but had a blast. I took a friend who does hair and make-up. I felt like a movie star. I was “hooked”.

I started modelling slips when I learned about Slips & Curves from Model Mayhem. I sent an email and requested an interview. I was nervous and wondered if they would want to use me as a model. I felt like the interview went well and I was asked to do a test shoot. I felt confident and that I was doing a good job during the shoot.

Please say a bit about Slips & Curves and your work as a model for the site.

I absolutely love working for Slips & Curves. The environment is very relaxed and as a model I feel very safe as compared with other modelling assignments. There have been a few situations with other photographers that were questionable.

However, Joe is amazing when comes to having respect for models. I like the fact that at Slips & Curves, the photographer and model perform their respective jobs on either side of the camera. As I said, I feel very safe, comfortable and have fun modelling the slips, petticoats and sexy lingerie. I am very pleased because I have been asked to work in front of and behind the camera. What do you like most about slips?

Slips are sexy without showing too much! My Special Guy really likes me wearing slips. I've sent him (he’s in the Army) photos of me wearing a sexy corset and he texts back that he likes the slips better. I was actually very surprised because he was the one who picked out the corset. The slips feel good on my skin. They feel silky and I like it. My Mom had white, red, pink and black slips that she transformed into “blankys” for me when I was a little girl. That was my cush cush. They went with me everywhere, school, football and hockey games, church…literally everywhere. Now, when wearing a slip, I find myself rubbing the silky fabric against my leg because I like the way it feels.

What types and makes of slips do you like best?

I like the full slips best, especially the colourful ones. My favourite colors are pink and blue. But, there are so many slips in the Studio wardrobe that I may have to rethink my preference. Here’s an example, the slip I’m wearing during this interview is a hot magenta full slip with black lace trim. The label has been removed so I don’t know the brand name, but it is similar to other 60’s vintage Sliperfection slips that are in inventory. I like this slip because of the colour contrast between the nylon and the lace, the length and especially the delicate lace design. I feel sexy and like the fact that it is not too revealing. I like the Vanity Fair and Van Raalte slips a lot. They make me feel girly.

How about other lingerie?

Let’s see. Corsets are pretty sexy and I have at least two that are fairly new. They are black and have bows and feathers for trim. Oh, and they feel silky. That’s important! [Laughing as she speaks) I’ve worn half slips on occasion, but I really prefer the full slips. Depending on the style, and I enjoy pretty bras. They can be sexy too. That’s pretty much it.

Anything else you would like to add?

I’ve been asked about how I feel when working in front of the camera. Life is exciting and I really enjoy being a girl. Being in front of the camera allows me to be feminine, playful and sexy. I like it! It's funny how most people get dressed for work. I get undressed and that's sexy. Wearing slips in front of the camera gives me confidence. I remember the first time went outside the Studio in just my slip. I felt like everyone in the world was going to see me in my slip. But now, I don't mind at all. I like the way I feel and the confidence I have.
