Lynn Carey Saylor is a friend of Brian May and a friend of mine
67Let me introduce you to Lynn Carey Saylor
I first had the pleasure of meeting Lynn Carey Saylor online back in the days of the original mp3.com, the digital music site that gave unsigned musicians and bands a place to upload their songs. I was immediately impressed with the quality of Lynn's compositions, which she writes, sings and plays guitar on. We became good friends and that friendship has continued over the years.
Lynn has famous friends too - one of whom being Brian May, the legendary guitarist from QUEEN, and Brian thinks enough of her to have contributed his talents to two recordings she made. The first of these was Lynn's limited edition charity single If We Believe that was released in 2002, and to which Brian contributed not only his incredible guitarwork but also some backing vocals.
Lynn donated part of the proceeds of sales for If We Believe to the Mercury Phoenix Trust, an AIDS charity set up by the surviving members of QUEEN and their manager after the tragic death of the band's singer, Freddie Mercury. This beautiful song went on to win awards scooping the IOMA 2005 awards for Best Collaboration (with Brian May), Best Song and Best Cover Art. Lynn also won Best Female Vocal at the same time.

Lynn Carey Saylor's fanbase
Lynn's online presence and ever-growing fanbase continued to expand with the exposure from her websites where people could check out her songs for themselves and get to find out all about her talents. Myspace has proved a tremendous help to Lynn in this way because she has received several notable offers via its pages. Dean Markley Strings and SPG Guitars have both decided to endorse her music.
Then just last year saw the release of Lynn Carey Saylor's long-awaited debut album You Like It Clean, which features 10 of her own compositions, any of which are chart-quality songs, plus the 1984 Pat Benatar hit We Belong, which once again has Brian May contributing his skills. This song was written by Eric Lowen and Dan Navarro, and the original songwriters help Lynn with her recording too as well as appearing in the video of the session. Eric is sadly suffering the crippling disease ALS but this didn't stop him getting involved in the production of the song he helped write. Lynn's talented producer husband, Skip Saylor, was in control of recording and production for the album at the Skip Saylor Recording Studios in Los Angeles.
Lynn's song I Wasn't A Friend, also on the album, addresses the dangers of drink-driving but without preaching in any way and this track is currently receiving a lot of well-deserved attention. Lynn cares about other people and doing what she can to help change the world for the better, and this shows not only in her actions as a person but is reflected in her lyrics. Besides her own music, Lynn is also in charge of GuitarGirls.com, which as the name suggests, is a site dedicated to promoting the talents of other female singer-songwriter guitarists.
Lynn is about to visit the UK in May, where she has publishers and labels in London interested in her songs. I am not surprised - she is a truly gifted singer-songwriter and it is a real mystery as to why she hasn't been snapped up before and become a chart-topping star. Lynn is also going to be featured on Sue Marchant's BBC radio show, and I think 2008 will be a very memorable year with many great things in store for my friend Lynn Carey Saylor.

Hi Bard!
It's a very enlightening introduction to Lynn's musical world.
Like you, Bard, I know Lynn very well, especially from a personal visit at her studio in L.A. I'm a fan of Lynn's songs, and I appreciate very much her GuitarGirls engagement.
I wish her all the best!

Really great article about Lynn Bard. She's a super talent and you're a super writer, and together they make for a fantastic read.
Uh, this seems a bit promotional, no?
YES! Read the terms of use! This is spamming...
I'm sure that slipped right be you, right?
I'm an accomplished musician, songwriter, and a master personal trainer. I don't spam myself, but I guess that's because I don't need to.
Oh, I guess I read the TOS. Maybe that slipped by you? Here, I'll help.
"Purely promotional offers and Hubs designed only to promote other sites or businesses are not allowed. In particular, the following actions are likely to get your hubs identified as overly promotional:
*
linking repeatedly to the same site within a hub or across many hubs
*
including links to a page that contains largely the same content as your hub
*
linking to products or services unrelated to a Hub's content
*
including more than 2 links to any one domain
*
short "teasers" with links to "read more" at another site
*
including promotional links on content that is unoriginal (i.e. not exclusive to HubPages); promotional links can only be included on content that is exclusive to HubPages
*
linking to the same domain in the body of the text AND in an RSS feed"
Don't worry about it, Bard - if the automatic checker didn't flag you for having excess domains, then it shouldn't be a problem.
Put it this way - if this Hub is counted as overly promotional, then they might as well get rid of three quarters of the Hubs on HP. Keep the links there until HP tells you that there is a problem, not some self-appointed quality controller. If you are unsure, e-mail Maddie and let her have the final say.
Personally - I would also delete it's comments. They are seriously out of order.
Agree totally with Sufi - nothing wrong with this Hub at all!
Thaks for the intro to a great singer!
Love and peace
Tony
Don't understand it - you can have two links to Myspace, BTW. I have two links to my personal site on many of my Hubs, but the content is always unique and rich. I accidentally included three links, once, and the system flagged me straightaway. I am pretty sure that if your content is unique, nobody cares - HP can make money off your Amazon links, for a start.
I only flag Hubs for spam if they are a couple of lines of text with two links.
This Hub is not one of those :)
PS: Should be *its in my above comment. A stray apostrophe found its way in!

nice feature on Lynn, Bard. I thought I knew a lot about her career being a long time fan of hers, but you brought out some facts which I was unware of. A great talent and I'm sure a great friend.
