MMS or the Miracle Mineral Supplement

Have you heard about MMS?

As many of you know, I have been recently battling with tooth problems and I also am a big believer in alternative remedies and therapies. Bearing all that in mind, I was fascinated to hear about Jim Humble's reported discovery of MMS, which stands for Miracle Mineral Supplement.

It is actually sodium chlorite in solution, which in the presence of various acids such as acetic (vinegar) converts to chlorine dioxide, which is a widely used germicide and water purifier. Jim's discovery, however, is that if it is taken internally in the right dose it is claimed to cure just about any disease you can think of. On a website about it it calls MMS "The answer to AIDS, hepatitis A,B and C, malaria, herpes, TB, most cancer and many more of mankind's worse diseases".

It is further claimed that MMS kills bacteria, viruses, protozoans, yeasts, fungi, and other parasites.

Project Camelot interview

A friend of mine told me there was video of a Project Camelot interview with Jim Humble talking about it and after watching it I felt I needed to get some as soon as possible.

I have done so and made a start at taking it for about a week after a bottle was sent very promptly from an approved supplier in America. Full directions are included and there is also a book available - Breakthrough, the Miracle Mineral Supplement of the 21st Century - which I intend getting.

Although I was very keen to give it a go I have since given up because I was getting diarrhoea and feeling sick and tired, and this was no good at present when I am up early to go to work in a school. These side effects are pointed out in the literature about it and you are advised to cut down the dosage and work up again. I was OK until I got to 14 drops. The directions I have says you must get to 15 drops and then take at this dose three times a day for a week before reducing the amount. This I have not done because I was feeling ill on 14 drops.

I had a very heavy cold or flu when I started taking it and hoped it would knock it out in days. It has done so but took nearly a week to do so and thus I cannot say for sure whether it worked or not. Now I am not taking it I have got bad toothache in a loose tooth but I put that down to eating cake in school and having had the cold weakening my immune system.

I would like to think that MMS does work as claimed but in my own case I am not in a position to say because I have temporarily abandoned the treatment due to my current work priorities. I am sure if I was able to stay home I would be able to increase the dosage and stay on the programme advised. I am also sure that if I had cancer, AIDS, malaria or any of the other serious diseases I would want to persevere.

Jim's site and the literature about MMS easily justify it being called a "miracle." If this does all it is said to then this information could save a lot of suffering and lives but I am personally sceptical.

I am posting  the video here so you can make up your own minds about MMS. In the Cancer-Free newsletter  on Jim Humble's site there is a caution about how strong this stuff is and how it needs to be used on a slow gradient, and on that subject I would definitely agree. I have not resumed taking the stuff.  I am not allowed to post the link to the site under new HubPage rules but I am sure you can find it on Google.

You idiot! Its Chlorine!

The chlorine has killed your gut flora (bacteria) and caused you to get diarrhea!

None of his literature is backed up! Come on, he claims he invented the garage door opener. And has over 100,000 scientific tests proving himself and yet doesn't list a single independent (from himself) publication to back it up!

I can easily show all of his science to be false, its part of my job as a biology teacher.

Hes mentally ill at best, and at worst he is actively trying to fraud people in a way that could even be fatal.

He's almost as bad as Gene Ray.

Did you read my hub? I said I had stopped using it and posted a caution. That is my opinion of the stuff, however, you will find that there are a very large number of people who support Jim Humble's claims for the stuff. Try Googling about it!

Hi Bard - I hope that you and Tiggy are keeping well :)

A potential client approached me about MMS, and wanted me to write a lot of content about it.

After much research, I came to the conclusion that my conscience would not allow me to accept the assignment - I like alternative therapies, but feel that this one has the potential to cause a lot of damage.

Just one man's opinion, but I am not a fan of Jim Humble, I am afraid.

Yes, I am doing Ok, thanks and so is Tiggy!

Interestingly, the company that I bought the MMS from sent me an email weeks back saying they were recalling the product. I Googled and found there is a lot of fuss about Humble being in potential trouble with the law over this. I don't know what the latest is but as I pointed out in this hub I quit using the stuff and that in the literature about it there is a caution. I have a friend btw who quit using it and reckoned it made him still ill some time after. On forums and sites there are a lot of people singing its praises though, as I am sure you have seen, and some of these claim to have taken the recommended high dosage and stayed on it. It is not for me though. There are a lot of conspiracy sites and alternative medicine sites and people active in these circles claiming it is the answer but as someone who tried it and stopped taking it because it was making me too ill to work I am not in agreement with them on this. I am also not in agreement about chemtrails or that all the Rothschilds are evil people so I suppose it looks as if I have switched sides to a lot of these folk!

A man who stops learning is a fool, and that is one thing that you are not.

I have always respected the way that you are always prepared to keep your mind open and change your position when you uncover new information. I like many alternative therapies, but a good BS detector is always useful!

Thank you, Martyn!

Just wanted to inform you - if necessary - that the MMS appears to have been acting as a powerful bleach, which kills pretty much everything, not just pathogens. Suffice to say the risk of drinking strong bleach is not worth the potential benefits - there are surely alternatives (Hah, they don't call it alternative medicine for nothing right :P) that do not have these risks attached.

The chemistry checks out, by the way - seems the FDA is on the mark this time.

Yes, well as I said, I quit using it and have only taken the stuff in very small doses since then. There's a lot of conspiracy theorists and alternative health people that are going to disagree with you, Jeron, but thanks for posting!

There are a lot of forums out here discussing MMS, but this one seems to strike an accord with me. I too could not handle the recommended protocol. I used the MMS1 for maybe 3 days and just had to stop. I have experimented with different alternatives before and I know that I have a pretty high tolerance, but this stuff is pew! I have not quit entirely, but I will not drink it anymore. I was a smoker for 20+ years and my teeth were all yellow and nasty looking. Since brushing my teeth with the MMS1 everyday for a week, I have noticed a significant difference in my oral health. My teeth have returned to a very nice state of white and I clearly have a fresh healthy mouth. I will continue to use the MMS1, but not orally.

Thanks for your feedback, Charles!

I have been using it for a year. It will knock out the flu or a cold in a very short time. This is not for people who are not willing to read and understand the protocols. It is very similiar to ozone or hydrogen peroxide protocols-- if you do it wrong or take too much it will make you sick. Shut the TV off and do your research before you use it. It works for me and my family!

I gave it up as it made me ill. I think it is basically a con. There are much gentler things to use like colloidal silver.
