Alex Jones is so convinced that the populations of this planet are kept prisoners and slaves to the system controlled by the Illuminati or the Elite that he calls his website Prison Planet. There is much evidence that suggests that most of us are prisoners of one sort or another whether we break the law or not. We are prisoners of the debt trap, prisoners of the money system, prisoners of the consumer society, prisoners of the medical and pharmaceutical system, prisoners by way of addiction, prisoners of the work ethic and prisoners of religious beliefs and brainwashing!
There has always been a lot of talk about freedom but freedom from what and whom needs to be defined. It is clear that the world functions by encouraging us to be trapped in some way. The rich elite have it all set up so that the masses are controlled in thought and deed by the brainwashing messages broadcast through the media. Global companies seek to convinceus that we need their products.
Millions of people work in jobs they hate and have very little free time or joy in their lives. Surely these people are prisoners?

World religions
Religions seek to attract new converts and to convince us that without following the right path we have no salvation or spiritual hope. At the same time Eastern religions like Buddhism and Hinduism point out that we are indeed in a material trap, a world of illusion that we have become fooled by and identified with.
There is a famous cult sci-fi series entitled The Prisoner that starred the late Patrick McGoohan as Number Six, who was kept captive in a seemingly open prison called The Village presided over by a mysterious Number One, whom McGoohan's character could never find. The intricate plot had Number Six trying in vain in each episode to escape and always being brought back or failing.
Each episode starts with a scene in which Number Six's captors tell him they want information. He tells them they won't get it. They tell him that he is Number Six and when he says,"I am not a number. I am a free man!" He is met with maniacal laughter.
The programme tapped deeply into something which people instinctively knew and the character Number Six became a heroic figure as he battles against his mysterious captors.
The situation is paralleled in the real world. Who really runs it? Who are the "Shadow Government?" Who really pulls the strings of the political leaders? Who really knows?
Many conspiracy theorists conclude from having looked at all the evidence that at the top of the pyramid of global control and the prison system we all live in are actually alien beings. William Bramley in his brilliant book The Gods of Eden suggests that there have always been otherworldly beings, call them gods, aliens, ETs, other-dimensional entities, angels, demons or whatever that are the real and hidden controllers. He calls them "custodians."
Most religions and cults all feature superhuman or divine beings in their doctrines and a system of laws of penalties and threats of punishment for breaking them. Freedom is available but at a price - your soul perhaps, or slavish devotion to some pathway? If we are spiritual beings the question is why are we trapped and who or what is trapping us?
One answer is that we trap ourselves. We create our own prisons, we fall victim to our own traps! We also accept the lies we are told by the controllers and their politcians and media.
There is the term "sheeple" meaning humans that follow each other like sheep, and David Icke says that they don't need much policing because the sheeple police themselves. Step outside the conditioned box and way of thinking and the sheeple will be quick to respond!
If we accept the idea that alien races are behind the world system then it opens up many other lines of thought. Michael Tsarion suggests that evil entered the human race and this planet by way of the extraterrestrial race he identifies as the Annunaki or the Nephilim, who had interbred with humans to create a hybrid slave race. Tsarion suggests too that these beings became prisoners here themselves having lost their technologies when Atlantis was destroyed. Further that other forces in the universe have placed an energy force field grid around this planet to keep these beings from escaping and taking their evil ways elsewhere.
UFO researcher Bob Dean has suggested that this planet is a human zoo. That is another possibility - that we are being kept here by alien beings in a vast open prison in which many of us actually think we are a lot more free than we really are. The democratic system works that way - it gives people the idea that everyone has rights and freedom of thought and action when in reality this is becoming less of a reality daily.
David Icke points out in a recent newsletter that Don Juan in the Carlos Castaneda books was revealing the truth when he said:
"We have a predator that came from the depths of the cosmos and took over the rule of our lives. Human beings are its prisoners. The predator is our lord and master. It has rendered us docile, helpless. If we want to protest, it suppresses our protest. If we want to act independently, it demands that we don’t do so … indeed we are held prisoner!
They took us over because we are food to them, and they squeeze us mercilessly because we are their sustenance. Just as we rear chickens in coops, the predators rear us in human coops, humaneros. Therefore, their food is always available to them."
The New World Order agenda is seeking to create a fascist totalitarian world government with a population of humans monitored and controlled by microchips embedded in them and linked to a central computer. If they succeed then there will be no doubts about this being a prison planet or not!
If you consider the idea that "what goes round comes around" and also that "like attracts like," when you think of what humans do to billions of animals, would it really be that surprising to find that we are the captives of alien races who keep us in their zoo, who use us as a workforce and also for experimenting on? Perhaps if we stopped using animals as beasts of burden, food sources that are kept in terrible factory farming conditions, items of merchandise, captive exhibits in zoos and experimental subjects in vivisection laboratories, then things might change?
The late film director Aaron Russo was interviewed in depth by Alex Jones (see the video included here) in January 2007 and Russo talks about what he had learned from his friendship with Nick Rockefeller. Subjects he touches on include the War on Terror, 9/11 predicted, War on Iran, depopulation, women's liberation as funded by the Rockefellers, microchipping, and the Federal Reserve. Russo claims that we are slaves living under a tyranny.
I agree with Alex Jones that this is a prison planet, but it doesn't have to be that way. It has been allowed to get like this but there is a movement underway of people waking up. There are also far far more of us than the small number of the human elite that control the world. And if aliens are behind the whole pyramid of world control then we need to see through the lies that hold it together and topple it, as well as breaking the bars of our collective mental prison!

Great hub and informative Steve. Touches many areas I also agree on, especially the train of thought about the human zoo and how we keep animals. Its the esoteric rule of "as above, so below". If we are to understand ourselves and how we are trapped we should be looking at our relationships with other members of our species and the way we treat other species. Maybe then, people will begin to see just how this planet works in favour of a relatively small percentage of the planet's populus.
Yes, Lou, it occurred to me many years back that that was why abductions and stuff was going on becase we were doing likewise to other animals we share the planet with. Therefore other races have the right to treat us like that. Something Alex Collier says I like too - that just because an ET has advanced technology doesn't mean he or she are any better than we are or any more ethical!
I watched the Aaron Russo interview again before posting this and he was telling it as he heard it from one of the elite.
As far as the abductions go, if you imagine you are some polar bear minding your own business on whats left of the arctic sea ice, and them some strange beings rock up in a strange noisy thing with flashy lights and smelling all weird, scaring the bejeezus out of you, and then shoot you with a stingy jabby thing and so you go all sleepy and cant move, then they stick a probe up your bum, inject you with a load of stuff which you have no idea what it does, steal some of your blood, take pictures of you, measure you, look in your mouth and pull your teeth about, examine in your eyes with bright lights, plant a tracking device around your neck or under your skin, and then leave you to it all alone; then you begin to see that ET is not much different to us. And I saw all that on a BBC documentary on how they are "conserving" polar bears. So what if we are the polar bears and earth is the disappearing arctic sea ice, huh? Even I though the so called conservationist turned up on a space craft because the skidoo was so noisy with all its flashing lights! Like I said,"as above, so below" lol! And ethical? I dont think advanced technology = ethicality, since technology is not biased one way or the other. Technology is just that: tools for the job. Its the beings themselves who are/are not ethical, sadly. I think we have become wildlife for other life forms to study.
Yes, it that sort of thing was done to a human abductee it would be proof that the aliens were hostile and had no feelings when they are no more hostile than humans are to animals! I cannot understand why humans think that the other animals cannot think and feel things like we can! In many cases I would say they can feel more!
Absolutely. Whales and Dolphins seem prime examples of animals whose primary senses seem to be emotional.I do wonder what constitutes "intelligence" in animals and in humans. I place emotional intelligence above intellectual or academic intelligence any day. Its no wonder I feel closer to animals than I do humans. They do live more harmoniously with each other and the planet than we do. Animals communicate to us constantly through body language and scent hormones, it is us, as humans, who are too stupid to understand them.

Hey Bard, I do believe in NWO and if I may this website shows how that it is a hidden NWO. For example instead of chips, which could happen, we have credit ratings and employer access the credit ratings. That keeps people in line if they want to protest usury by not paying their credit cards. We have the financial NWO rather than a one world physical government. Yes, they do everything in gradual stages so people get acclimatised to the prison they are in and accepting the controls they have over them and don't realise until it is too late! It is also known as the Great Work of Ages because it has been an ongoing plan spanning ages. We happen to be towards the end stages though now!
I do not believe in alien beings from other planets. That, and many other conspiracy theories make the huge assumption that hundreds or thousands of people keep their secrets when if fact people can't wait to tell others what they know.
I do think we all serve somebody. Jesus said we do and He was pretty sharp.
There have always been men who wanted to rule the world. Alexander the Great certainly did. I am sure the Illuminati, Club of Rome, Trilateral Commission, the Bilderbergers et al. do their best. But I do not believe they have control—yet. They would have to disarm America first.
Actually millions of people do believe in aliens and do share their belief whilst another very large number do not because of what they fear people will think of them.
It seems obvious to me that there would be countless other inhabited planets in the universe. To think this one is the only one with life on it makes no sense to me at all!
The disarming of America plan is underway as part of the War on Terrorism scam and there are those who are publicising the need to not let this happen. I would agree with them!
Well, you certainly got me thinking. Great hub. And, yes, we are all prisoners in some way. Prisoners to fear, negative thoughts, low self esteem, the pursuit of money, etc.
Indeed we are but so are the elite, whom we may perceive as evil people. They are prisoners of their fabulous wealth and cannot do normal things like the rest of us. They cannot walk in public without their security and minders, they cannot catch public transport or relax on a public beach or have a drink in a public bar! They can only mix with other elite people. It must be a very strange life even though they can own whatever they want!

You touched on the correct answer, Steve.
Our minds are the greatest part of our evolution, and this is self-evident in the beginnings of our exodus from this planet. Just think of it - in just 25% of the total age of the Universe, Life has first appeared out of sterility, evolved in complexity, evolved in self-awareness, and is on the point of leaving the planet and migrating outwards through the vast vacuum of Space.
In order to develop self-awareness, we had first to evolve a large and ordered brain to be able to SIMULATE reality inside it. This is what all higher animals do, but only we can "run the simulation forward", so-to-speak, and IMAGINE and then CREATE utterly abstract concepts, like science, art, music, and language.
However, we are not a "mature" species and we are still undergoing the evolutionary process, and most of our brain is still "swinging through the trees", and most of what remains is still "gnawing a bone in a cave".
What "controls us" from beneath is our subconscious, limbic, system which only a few of us have access to - because we haven't practised or exercised that connection - and it hasn't dawned on us (yet) that to do so is an ESSENTIAL part of our education.
Our "subconscious" has a more rapid and complete access to our brain than our "consciousness" has. In fact, the average human being would deny the existence of his/her subconscious.
Charlatans, like Tsarion, Russo and Icke, are not reaching for your conscious thought. They want your subconscious, for if they can grab it, they HAVE you, and it is quite likely that that you will find it very difficult indeed to shrug off this control. You KNOW this, Steve! :)
In your mind, and mostly outside your control, the WHOLE WORLD (as you "see" it) is SIMULATED.
You NEVER see "reality". ALL your sensory inputs are your DOORS to the world, and they are controlled (more often than not!) by your subconscious, and NOT by your conscious mind.
This is the reason why charlatans, "miracles", hypnotism, ghosts, dictators, "paranormal" events, "chemtrails", "magic", "religion", and "gods" "exist".
No wonder we're in a mess! Who's for fixing it? LOL

I don't know much about aliens but I'm open to the possibility. My grandmother believed God was from outer space (Eric Von Daniken theory), but your prison planet certainly smacks of some truths. Great hub!

I do believe we are a prison planet as you refer to it. I believe the main idea of authority or government is to rid individualism. With individualism comes true freedom and debate. The government wants everyone to be followers of one so we operate as one.
Yes, individuality is being stamped on but it must be maintained and increased - we are all individuals and very different and that is how it should be! Sameness is a threat to the world! It is antilife and creation!

The Manicheans (a medieval, much persecuted heretic sect) believed the Earth was made by the Demiurge (similar kind of thing to the Devil) and that God was a very distant being that could only be approached through elaborate rituals and practices.
Voltaire includes a Manichean in 'Candide' as a commentary on the evils of the world.
I can understand the appeal of this viewpoint. Life is hellish and terrifying at times.
So the idea that planet earth is a prison planet has a long history.
p.s. The One True Church declared the Manicheans to be in error and burned a lot of them to prove that the Earth was a good and wholesome place. Sometimes you just have to laugh... Or you would cry.

And sorry I've not kept in touch lately but I have been so busy it's really crazy but despite all sorts of probs like my new PC having blue screens and having to sort that out and my cat getting ill I have made a lot of progress including signing a book contract and getting an album of my songs confirmed. The William Bramley viewpoint in Gods of Eden is that both the good and the bad sides in these sort of "religious" issues are both under the control of "custodians." In other words, it doesn't matter if it's gods, devils, angels, demons, aliens or other dimensionals, the end result is that they give humans rules and dogma and we are living as their captives!

(who follows?) ... and secondly.. well everything is energy.. energy attracks that what it is onto itself...as David Icke puts it, we decode the data that we perceive and we are only able to perceive a fraction of the collective reality or frequency that most of us share... thus once we shift our attention we tune in to a different frequency... we ourselves direct our energy focus..our perception of reality..unless (which is the case with the majority of people) we let that be done by external forces..and give away our powers.. I am 100% sure that when more and more people wake up from the nightmare they are experiencing..the "EVIL" forces (who do not know any better because they have LIVE spelled backwards ) will simply demolish, they r already diggin they own graves!!

I agree mostly but do not think there is any kind of karmic connection between the way we treat animals and the way we are treated by the "custodians" (whatever term you want to use)as this implies "evil" or karmic debt owed by the exploited, which is clearly not the case with animals. It is just the powerful exploiting the weak at every level of reality. And simply treating animals the way they should be treated is not enough to break the bars of the prison. The "guardians" must be overthrown by violence, spiritual, physical or both, if there is to be freedom. Thoughts?
My immediate thoughts on this and generally are that violence in thought or deed against an oppressor is NOT the answer but creates more of the same! It is a common reaction and goes along with revenge and revolution and the idea of fighting for peace! It is not the answer!
I believe what Alex Jones, David Icke, Michael Tsarion and others say. There is too much proof not to. The mistreatment of an animal or child is inexcusable for any human being for any reason. Lets work on a solution. I agree, no violence. We are better than that.

I think that more people will see violence as the only way to remove leaders. Once leaders are elected, they almost immediately become the enemy of the people who elected them and they use laws to entrench themselves and their buddies. What recently happened to Berlusconi in Italy might be just a warning of what is to come. Next time, a bullet maybe?

Interesting Hub! There is a growing faction of people who revolve around a person who calls himself Galdean Silverdane that touts the Prison Planet concept in a different manner. They can sometimes be manic in their expression, but the crazies tend to be less blind in this area and concept. NO doubt they were driven that way by facing the truth of the world. I suppose I should start hubbing about them.

Personally, I think we are as much a prisoner of this planet as we allow ourselves to be whether there are outside influences or not. And violence not only creates more violence, in the long run it's more destructive than creative.

Just saw the movie the Fourth Kind and am bewildered by the whole alien abduction phenomenon. Being Christian contradicts these theories but they seem too compelling to ignore. I will keep an open mind and thank you for this hub as it contains logic that is hard to dispell.

all you have to do is trip on magic mushrooms once with a good friend somewhere outside thats tranquil and serene and think about nothing but positive thoughts (listening to the beatles is also very helpful.. they show you the way) youll start to see how your thoughts control literally everything you do and every way you feel. you can take anything.. a piece of information a situation a thought... anything and see it in a bright light or dark light. the one you chose to see it in will direct your life. there is no right or wrong answer, just the one that makes you happy. if you change the way you see things youll see the positive energy materialize into real things. and in this instance, positive attracts positive...attracts positive attracts positve etc. the psycho active compounds release floods of serotonin and once youve done this right, that postive feeling will stay with you, and youll get so used to being this way you become it for good.

One could make the augment that even the ‘aliens’ are prisoners of their own construct and limitations just has we are confined by our own limitations (or the limitations they confine us to). This is extremely thought provoking. I'm reading 'Autobiography of a Yogi' by Paramahanoa Yogananda and it's reaffirming to me that we're utterly free as long as we realise it. After all no one can harm or alter the light energy that we're made of. Neither can they own the particles of matter in us because they will cease to be and our light energy will fly free, as it can now if we let it.
So in a way I agree with you but we are only prisoners because we choose to be or because we allow ourselves to be kept blind.

I believe that we are all prisoners of existence. No one truly dies. E=mc2 no matter what we are all trapped in Existence. We are a feeling of expression massed on this world, and part of the galaxy. That never dies. One form or another, life is a state of mind, also a state of being. That's what god would say. I can say we are a test tube of species, some places are better, some are not. What happens to matter when it is sucked into a Black Hole. Simple Energy.

Thankyou Bard Of Ely- don't disagree with anything you take note of, but I do note that there is a lot of feedback on this... seems that people are freaking out about the conspiracy stuff, must/could be they're waking up, at long-last. But the unconverted probably don't have internet. No disrespect intended here... I wonder how to reach those who are asleep...?

I am not to sure about all these wild ideas about a prison planet. What I do think sometimes is that if there is a Hell it can not be much different then life on this planet. Perhaps we are in Hell always being fooled that somehow we can leave this place. Of course this is comparison to a place we have not been to yet. What I truly believe is that life is short and we have a very short time in order to learn and mature spiritually in order to serve whatever purpose it is we were brought here. I think we constantly confuse Earthly reasons and Heavenly purpose and often never mature enough to create a society that allows free will and individual growth towards the journey each individual must take in order to find that true purpose. Where ever selfishness and human agendas take over to serve Earthly purpose we fail eventually.

In order for humans to unite they must have a common enemy. When that enemy is eradicated we will no sooner turn on eachother because humans sadly thrive on greed and power (history tells us this read a history book if you disagree)... I believe our species is too young to be truly free. Its like the dog who chases the car it won't know what to do when it catches it but nonetheless it pursues. In reality people are afraid including me thanks to the media, govt,... If there is a "superior" race controlling us and they eventually reveal themselves as rulers of the human race what scares me the most is how many people would simply bow down. Fear is control and according to this theory they have no shortage of either. I hope that if the time ever comes ill be the dog chasing the car not knowing what the end result will be but hoping it will be better than staying in the yard because my master ordered me too. We must not let fear consume us or else we will never be truly free. Thanks for reading my rambling and good article it really made me think differently

Interesting read, mind stimulating, a lot of possibiity were offered, and agree we do take part in helping create our own prisons, with what ever prison we are in, if we can help in creating our prisons we can also change it to, we are our own key holders, time to unlock:) i also think this article can help those who are not yet aware, a starting point like a stone thrown across a still river as the ripple vibrating awarness of the world around them and discovery of ones true spirit and being:)

I suspect the best trap would be believing one is trapped.
Another way to look at this existence is that one is as free as one elects to exercise freedom.
Freedom defined as relative movement from one place to another.
That is a very free way of thinking but for me I think it is sadly a lot more complex than that! Please show me one free being on this planet!
I could be evil and say look in the mirror. But I won't. Complexity is the relative number of moving parts in a system. The system IS complex, agreed.
But if freedom is the ability to move around, how is that accomplished. I'd say by moving, by being willing to move, by seeing places to move to.
Being trapped is accomplished by thinking one is trapped. If one exists as a body, not a viewpoint, it is easier to be so trapped.

OK, I got my head around not being a body long ago but the body I have is in a material world where it cannot do whatever it wants. Further if you take responsibility and feel love for an animal, as I do for my cat companion, then I find both of us are in a trap whether I like it or not due to laws that apply, treatments by vets that are legally needed and a large amount of airfare to be paid for a cat to leave here! A trap I never bargained for but acknowledge I am in.

I need a miracle! If I move back to the UK or to Poland where I am also invited to go I have to get a Pet Passport sorted out and it takes 6 months plus it involves an anti rabies vaccination, microchipping, a treatment for ticks and worms and then the flight cost is insane: 595 pounds to the UK one-way, plus a fee to a pet travel agent to book the pet in at the airport. If you can get all that sorted out at an estimated cost of around 1,000 GBP then the cat gets not only uprooted from its home, but then a long journey to the airport and waiting time (4 hours total) and finally another four hours in the dark hold of the plane before the final leg to wherever you are going in the UK (or elsewhere). None of that seems at all right to me and I don't have that sort of money anyway!
An interesting read. The good news is, in the last 5 years the number of people waking up to the control system is growing exponentially. 15 years ago, I would never have dreamed so many people would be willing to accept this horrific truth but they are and I think this is thanks to a fundamental truth about human beings which is in essence, at our core, we are all good and filled with love. In the universal order of the cosmos, light will ALWAYS overcome darkness and good will ALWAYS overcome evil.
Also, from my own experience and speaking to many other enlightened people I believe the fastest way for someone to wake up to this prison planet is to look inside yourself rather than outside yourself. Nobody who is honest with themselves can deny this disturbing truth when they fully comprehend the strange paradox of their own existence in this unknown, weird holographic reality. Just waking up to your own strange experience here can be a frightening thing for someone who has lived their whole life in ignorant bliss but this fear is important because it shocks them towards the truth which they can can no longer deny. The truth that we are here, experiencing an existence in a place where we have no prior knowledge or memory of. A place where we are trapped and where our energy is locked inside an organic machine. Anyone who breaks down this whole reality into its key components must conclude that we are in some kind of advanced technologic prison. An almost perfect prison which could in fact be impossible to escape from.
Let me explain this a little further. Imagine a technologically advanced alien race that fed on humans and wanted to build the perfect prison to keep them in. Some would say to simply remove their intelligence and reduce them to animals but I don't think they could do that because they feed on our energy and our energy is our consciousness which is our intelligence from a higher plane. So, if they couldn't remove our intelligence all they have to do is control our experience and block our memory. By doing this, we can keep our intelligence, our consciousness but we become controllable.
Just think about designing a perfect prison where nobody will ever escape. Simply block a prisoners memory and put them in a virtual world where they think they are free. This IS the ultimate prison. A prison that I can imagine an advanced alien race using on us.
What you say has similarities to L Ron Hubbard's ideas about implant stations, false data fed to us before we reincarnate again and how the Marcab Federacy use this place as a prison planet. Wikipedia says: 'Hubbard stated that the Marcab Confederacy was now using Earth as a "prison planet". When a person dies or "drops the body", as Scientologists put it, his thetan is pulled into a Marcab-established "implant station" or "report station".' Nice hub. We are in a prison, created by the international bankers and their central banking system that is putting the entire world in debt, and currently collapsing the world economies. We have to convince people that this is happening or it will never stop... I have a couple hubs talking about specific quotes, facts, and politicians that have helped to fight the central banking system. used to watch the prisoner with my da when i was kid...was happy to get a heads up then...it's tough cuz u need to step out of the box 2 c.....most folk don't drift towards the frontier, now days, hopefully, more are...
