Exclusive interview with Lady Phenie
Bard of Ely : When did you first discover slips and how long have you been wearing them?
Lady Phenie: I first discovered slips in my late teens,the fashion then was to
wear a slip liner which basically is a tight fitting and very plain
slip with no lace and was intended to give a smooth lining to your
tight pencil skirts. Since my teen years I have discovered how beautiful
in design that slips can be with gorgeous lace and amazing workmanship
in the form of appliques etc.That was of course many years ago, so I
would say I have been wearing slips for coming up to 40 years!
What do you think makes the slip such a sexy item of lingerie?
Lady Phenie: To me a slip shouts out femininity and it certainly makes me feel very
feminine when I wear a slip.The fabric also adds to the sensuality and
is mostly some form of silky soft nylon or satin, which again is very
femme and very arousing to the touch. Most of all though, I think the
slip is so sexy because of its mystery - you may get a flash of slip
peeking out from a split in a skirt or a little lace hanging below the
hemline of your dress and then you have to imagine what the rest looks
like. Men say they find this such a turn on and love to see a lady
showing her slip.
Do you have any favourite types of slip?
Lady Phenie: I like all slips, both half and full, vintage and modern but I do have a passion for vintage full slips. I have many in my collection from various makers including Van Raalte (my favourite) Vanity Fair, Barbizon, Wonder Maid, Movie Star, Gossard, Kayser...and the list goes on. My collection of slips now totals approx 170, both full slips and half slips.
Do you have any favourite makers of Vintage or modern slips?
Lady Phenie: Think I just answered this question, oops! My very favourite slip
maker is Van Raalte, the attention to detail and quality are simply
first class and the nylon they use is beautifully soft.

What do you think would be a good way of getting slips to be
fashionable and commonly worn again?
Lady Phenie: I really do not believe slips will ever become fashionable again. What I
do believe is that men will always love to see a lady in her slip. In my
experience I find that if my slip is showing, I get a lot more attention
from guys and cannot help notice the 'straying eyes' lol. Most skirts
and dresses these days are lined and most women do not feel the need to
wear a slip as they only see the practical use for them. Personally I always
wear a slip whether my skirt is lined or not. I just love the feel and a
slip makes me feel very sexy.
Please say a bit about yourself and your personal website.
Lady Phenie: Since I have always had a passion for beautiful feminine clothes and lingerie, especially slips, I decided (with a little persuation from friends) to launch my website in April 2008. I knew a lot of men enjoyed the sight of a lady in her slips and other sexy underwear from the general feedback I got from chatting but they rarely got to see it, unless they were lucky enough to have a partner who was accomodating in that field (slips I mean), and I guess there are not that many ladies out there that actually do wear slips. Anyway it seemed like a good idea and I had lots of help from some very nice people including my webmaster Simon, who is a lovely guy and has helped me so much (thank you Simon x).
My website is dedicated to beautiful feminine lingerie and of course silky soft slips. Members have now got access to over 5,000 pictures and they can arrange private chats with myself on my very own chatroom.
A member can also 'dress me.' This is a feature where they get to request what I wear and choose a scenario and their gallery then appears on my website named after themselves if they so wish. Its all good fun and I love nothing more than interacting and getting to know my members and indeed I have made some really lovely friends over the past year.
I would dearly like to offer my website for free but to be honest there are lots of costs to running a website, not to mention buying new clothing, lingerie etc to meet the requests of members, and I wear different clothing and slips in every gallery so that is 2 slips every week! So, as you can imagine I simply could not afford to do it. I really enjoy what I do and just love modelling my beautiful slips for you, and going by the lovely compliments and comments in the e-mails I receive, my members certainly enjoy it too! And that is what it's all about for me.

This is why I wear a slip everyday under my male clothes. The reminder of what i am wearing, feeling the body of the slip move around my body and tickles my thighs and I love the materials of my panties and slip as they slide across each other. Nothing feels as wonderful as this.

Lady Phenie I love the way you look in full slips and your attitude abuot we women wearing them. I dont have a Collection of slips like you do but I do have 20 or so and love wearing them under my skirt or dress and I am sure that others notice it. Slips make me so feminine when I go out.

I am only twenty-seven and only during the past few years have I made it a point to wear tight fitting full length silk slips under my clothing. I am considered very attractive so I always been fortunate to get noticed by both men and other women; however, I've noticed a marked increase in people noticing my bit of slip either by getting a view up my skirt or having it seduce them as they see 5 or 6 inches of it showing from the back slits of my tight skirts. Or yah, a full length silk slip is a very sensuous garment, second to none!

I agree entirely with Phenie and appreciate her interview. NOTHIG is as feminine or provocative (in only a positive way) as an attractive woman wearing a lacy slip. It is such a shame today that women generally don't appreciate, understand or care about this. I have a collection of more than 200 full and half slips - mostly vintage. Most women today, I guess because they grew up wearing jeans or pants, stuff other than skirts, have little idea as to what a slip really is used for nor do they realize that it is clearly the most sensuous garment they could wear. I recently saw a beautiful young woman with an incredible body (very busty and curvy with long legs to die for) sitting in a food court at a local supermarket eating her lunch. She was wearing a very tight navy blue skirt and white silk blouse and I could clearly see the straps from her slip and bra indicating she was wearing a full length slip. It was very shiny and silky and I could clearly see the delicate intricate lacework of both her hem and bodice. At one point, with her tight skirt riding up her lower thighs and her knees apart I got a "full glimpse of heaven on earth" which included the slip, silky pantyhose, and a shiny panty brief. I had a very difficult time keeping my composure and eventually noticed other men and women in my immediate area were also in stunned awe of the beautiful and sexy sight they were viewing. When the young woman (awh appeared to be in her early twenties) got up and walked away in what I could best determine to be 5" red high heels and a bout a 6" slit in the back of her skirt exposing a portion of the slip's delicate lace, I looked around to find everyone's eyes glued to that same location and many making some very positive comments about how hot she looked. Incredibly, the girl was very conservative in her dress but oh so incredibly sexy. The slip is alive and well and its sensuality and sexual impact is, I feel, being realized by other young women of today because I've seen slips on girls at least ten times in the past month!

This series of hubs is really about the lost concept of feminine sensuality. The fact that I'm the first person to comment indicates how clueless even women have become to this concept. Lady Phenie is not about the raw sexuality and porn of the present culture. She represents flirtation and erotica as it was once innocently understood in everyday life.
