Familyism causes division and hatred
78In defence of Rothschild family members
I never thought I would end up having to defend the powerful Rothschild family but find that I feel I should do so because I have recently witnessed prejudice, bias and hatred against family members based on nothing but their surname!
Imagine what it is like to be hated not because of anything you have personally done but because of the name you were born with. Put yourself in the position of someone who has to face this unjust and malicious behaviour.
There are already too many isms in the world such as sexism, racism, ageism, speciesism, and to the list we can add "familyism"!

David Icke supporters guilty of familyism
Last year I became a public supporter of David de Rothschild and his Plastiki Expedition. I had become motivated to show my support for him because of the unfair and insulting behaviour by Alex Jones when he had David as a guest on his show. I bought David's book and watched some videos of him speaking and found I was in agreement with him.
David is an environmental campaigner and at time of writing this is halfway across the Pacific Ocean on a plastic catamaran called the Plastiki made up entirely from discarded plastic bottles. He is raising global awareness of the danger to the oceans, to wildlife and to us from plastic pollution. He is calling for solutions to this and for greater responsibility and more recycling where possible.
I am now co-running a fansite for his supporters and fans. It is clearly marked as such and, of course, does not welcome attacks on the family and its members but it has had them and they have been removed.
Now, Jones is a conspiracy theorist and so is David Icke, and unfortunately whether this is intentional or not, their followers having been told that the Rothschilds are an evil Illuminati family, brand them all in this way. This is completely illogical.
As I have pointed out before, members of a family are individuals and have their own opinions and beliefs. Members of a family often disagree and may even fall out with each other. I have seen plenty of examples of this in my own experience and I am sure you have too. Being a member of a family means nothing more than you carry the surname of that family and inherited genetic make-up to varying degrees.
The Rothschild family is a huge one and it is most unfair that anyone with that surname should be a target for hatred yet hatemail and comments get sent out and posted at the Facebook site where I have personally deleted such offensive communications and blocked and reported those responsible.
I have had to do the same on my personal site there too. I have always tried to allow freedom of speech but I am not prepared to allow messages of hatred to be posted on my wall!
David Icke conveniently leaves out anything good any members of the Rothschild or other elite families have done and basically demonises the whole family. He goes as far as suggesting they are one of the "bloodline" families of shape-shifting Satanic reptilian and human hybrids that rule the world. Icke's fans believe this stuff and act on their beliefs.
I have read and happen to agree with a lot of conspiracy theory material but I am becoming rapidly distanced from conspiracy theorists, who are illogical and hateful people who seem to be as much "sheeple" as the people they condemn and tell to "wake up!"
Icke tells us about how the Illuminati use "Divide and rule" as a tool for controlling the masses and yet his books create even more division that I have witnessed and would call familyism. Surely this is hypocritical behaviour?
I know these anti-Rothschild people are often Icke and Jones fans because several who have mailed me have admitted this. I ask them what do you know about the late Miriam Rothschild? They say they have never heard of her so I say please read this and send them links about her.
She is one of many members of the family who has done a tremendous amount of good but all the good works of the Rothschilds are omitted from David Icke's books. To be fair to him though he does tell his supporters to think for themselves and not to believe stuff just because he said it. Sadly it appears many of his fans do not do take this advice.
The Bible advises: "Judge not lest ye be judged," and I would agree with this. I have seen people judged as evil based on nothing more than the family name. We all share this world and are never going to solve its very serious problems by waging campaigns of hatred and encouraging division.

it is too bad some people will believe whatever someone tells them and/or what they read. i look at it as white noise and am glad i can dismiss some info as just that especially when hatred and prejudice are apparent.
This is a very interesting article. As a Christian I believe that you should do good to those who hurt you. So I am in agreement with you on that. However, I find it interesting that in the west we do tend to treat people individually, whereas in the east if one person is shamed the whole family is shamed. The reason for this is that the society figures that a person does not raise themselves, that the family is somehow responsible for that person and therefore shares in the glory or shame of that person. Regardless, all people should be treated kindly and with respect, albeit with some people it is more difficult than with others.
Then there are some that will lie right out of the other side of their mouth's when they say they do good to those who they think do evil--just because of a name and JUDGE according to misinformation ....some of which they are guitly of spreading.
I rated this hub up.
Interesting. Nice job. I don't know anything about David de Rothchild beyond your hub, but I admire your defense of him against conspiracy theorists.
you are right to withhold judgment due to a name....even though he may be harshly judged by his name/connection...David probably also values having that name because it opens doors...it is the two edged sword. But it is good that you care about David Rothschild...
I know when you use the Bible in one of your hubs, YOU MEAN BUSINESS!
I knew about none of this except through you and I thank you for this information.
I come from a family of long standing here in the USA. I would hate it if I was ever treated a certain way because of that fact.
I think highly of you for standing up for some who is being treated badly. Carry on!
I can see it from both points of view. Rothschilds are a big banking family and in recent years the banks have mess up the world's finance but it is we the people who will have to pay for this mess. So i can understand people getting very angry with any family connected to banking.
At the same time i am very aware that the people in these rich families are just ordinary people. There are people because of their wealth and power who will worship them. While on the other hand there are other people like David Icke who try to demonize them. Neither point of view is true.
I suppose it is their great wealth and power that cuts them of from the real world and makes it hard for the rest of us to relate to them as ordinary human beings.
Fair play to you Bard for standing up for something and somebody you believe in, particularly to the extent that you've set up a fanzine website on his behalf.
Very solid point here Bard. We are all individuals and each person is responsible for making choices on what to focus upon. Its kinda disconcerting to see people choosing to focus on the bad traits of a family thus projecting it upon every individual in that family.
I think the fundamental problem with conspiracy theory it is usually presents the idea some kind of group is to blame for, or are orchestrating all the worlds ills and the rest of us are innocent and powerless victims.
I think this is false I believe human nature is the problem and in many cases the reason the world is going to Hell in a hand basket is not due to some sinister plan but simply the inevitable outcome and culmination of the most negative aspects of human nature. There's no overarching plan it's simply a disaster.
That said criminality may exist at various levels and there may be a degree of organization but I would doubt there is an overall conspiracy because in the main individuals work out of self interest so it's difficult to take conspiracy theory too far because human beings don't behave that way.
That being the case it makes no sense to paint all the members of a family with the same brush simply because there may have been some bad apples. Everyone has free will and can choose how to behave.
Well I suppose on a basic level one could say human nature is neither good nor bad it's just a natural force a bit like the weather. That's not to say there is no such thing as good or evil because natural events and actions have effects so we interpret things according to how they affect us, those around us and even to the species as a whole, other creatures and even the planet as a whole. But that is an interpretation and I suppose as individuals interpretations vary. Obviously some people have more conscience than others.
I suppose the reason why "bad" people seem to get to the top is because no one with a conscience would be that selfish and ruthless. Well winning doesn't favour altruism it normally entails making people eat one's dust. So it's inevitable the kind of people who get to the top aren't going to be the most caring sharing types. They're more likely to be psychopaths because if they cared about others they probably wouldn't get to the top.
I wouldn't say there was any conspiracy in that though it's just the way things work. It's simply the outcome of an anthropological process the inevitable outcome of human behaviour.
I suppose the only way that would change is if there were some kind of transformation in human nature, an evolutionary step of some kind where we all become more caring and sharing and more spiritually aware. Or perhaps a technological breakthrough e.g. if we discovered free or more efficient less polluting energy sources, we could have a much fairer world.
Of course there is some evidence to suggest there is a conspiracy to suppress free or more efficient alternative energy sources and things such as UFOs and the discovery of life on other planets. I can certainly see those conspiracies and understand the motivation behind them :)
I agree that family members are wrongly accused just because they have a particular name. However, there is no doubt that there are some people who have tremendous power and financial resources, who are also very possessed by megalomania and extreme narcissism. follow money until it gets extremely secretive. Some people who have power, especially inherited power through old families, do not want to share power. so, are we to believe that the "powers that be" have totally altruistic motives ? their secrets are innocuous ? I doubt it.
You will know them by their works...
I agree with Spencer. It doesn't really matter what society says about you, or what they think of you. God knows our hearts, and God is now respector of persons.
I meant *no respector of person
WADO THAT IS CHEROKEE THANK YOU. I APPRECIATE THE OBJECTIVITY IN YOUR ARTICLE, PLEASE WRITE MORE, I WOULD BE PLEASED TO BE A FOLLOWER, DONALORE
"Familyism"! In defense of a good friend you coined that word. I think this applies not only to the rich Rothschild family. Among the rich families in my country, their child(especially a girl) marrying a poor guy whose name is obscured by his low status in society, brings unending squabbles between parents and the children- all because of their surnames. The rich want marriage with a fellow rich to perpetuate the family name.
Children who insist to follow their hearts desire are disowned by their parents. It's not true only in the movies, it's really happening. This can be a good hub research for a great writer like you, Bard.
This "familyism" is nothing but a mask for anti-semitism in a form that is acceptable to the new politically correct world.
The Nazi belief of an international jewish conspiracy has been watered down and re-phrased as an international "bankster" conspiracy. David Icke, being te strange person he is, favours a "reptillian" conspiracy theory - of course the reptillians are those who wield political and economic power.
Well, I could go on, but, in essence it is all the same basic shit that's been going on for centuries.

Well done. Any time we can look objectively at people for their own merits, we are better off. I just wish that I had the Rothschild's problems...maybe if I win the lotto.
Wow. Thank you so much for the info. I was came across Plasticiki while cruising through YouTube, loved the message but when I tried to find more info I was bombarded with sites and comments that were...frankly, a little insane. How could people hate a person that is fighting the good fight? I scratched my head "googled 'why do people hate David Rothschild' and found my answers here. Of course, Illuminati nonsense.
"...one of the "bloodline" families of shape-shifting Satanic reptilian and human hybrids that rule the world. Icke's fans believe this stuff and act on their beliefs."
This is typical thought-disorder stuff, mostly seen in paranoid-schizophrenics. Honestly, they should be pitied.
